I have a Mitsubishi WD-57732. The problem started

I have a Mitsubishi WD-57732. The problem started with the lamp taking a long time to come on. I had sound while this was going on. It then went to the lamp would not come on and after a short time the TV would shut down. While this will be fixed sometime because I bought a 5 year extended warrantte, I waqnt to know what the error code is telling me. I get an error code of 66. Can anyone tell me what this error code means. I tried to find a list of error codes, but have found nothing yet.

Lamp did not turn on at P-ON sequence
(No Lamp inserted)
(Disconnected cable between ballast and lamp)
(Lamp-Enable goes to DM but not to Ballast) It's related to the lamp.

How can you diagnose a failed lamp in a Mitsubishi DLP WD 52631

Remove the lamp and do a visual inspection.
If this is a DLP you may have a bad color wheel! whistling sound is a sign of color wheel.

Good luck to you

The lamp needs to be replaced. It's on the back and easy to do. I replaced mine about 3 months ago and it was about $182.00. Hope this works, I know it's hard to fork out that kind of money at this time but once you do the TV will be as good as new. Take care

Mitsubishi WD-57732 LAMP continuously burns out. I have replaced four in two years. We don't watch alot of TV.

There are a few issues here:

The lamp you are purchasing could not be OEM, or a compatible lamp--OR you have a ballast/power supply issue blowing the lamp out.

The original lamp is manufactured by Osram, but a better and compatible lamp would be Philips, who pioneered the lighting for DLPs. The ballast needs to be compatible with the lamp and Mitsubishi ballasts are compatible with most lamps, but work best with Philips and Osram. Only buy from an authorized dealer!

Dead lamp

The sensor is located on or near the lamp compartment on the back side. If your lamp keeps blowing it may be the lamp cooling fan not working. However are you sure the lamp is blowing? Press menu and device on the front control panel both in together for 5 seconds and see if the led blinks a two digit code, then let me know the code. Please respond to this same post.
