THAT IS GOING TO MOST LIKELY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE OPTICAL ENGINE AND PANASONIC HAD SEVERAL MODELS THAT HAD PROBLEMS WITH EEPROM CORRUPTION THERE WAS A RECALL TYPE OF EXTENDED WARRANTY I SUGGEST CALLING PANASONIC THEY WILL SEND SOMEONE OUT TO FIX IT MOST LIKELY FREE OF CHARGE :)
I had the same problem, first a blue spot then a green spot showed up. I contacted Panasonic Customer Support. They sent someone out and they fixed the TV for free. They reprogrammed the EEPROM chip in the TV. It is a defect. My TV was 4 years old and out of warranty. They came out last week.
So long as it is not happening by something you have done. It will be fixed free of charge. Call them, it solves the problem.
Try to observe the problem when there is a white screen or predominantly white screen. If the screen is green or yellow where it should be white, its most likely a problem with one or more of the small LCD panels in the TV's light engine.
Its an expensive problem to fix. The light engine most likely will have to be replaced. Check with Panasonic customer relations for possible assistance.
I had red and green spots, and I called the service department at the furniture store where we purchased our 42" TV. They said it needed to be updated, and they picked it up, fixed it, and delivered it back to the house for about $25.00. We had a warranty, so it only cost for coming to the house twice... No more spots!
