On the right side of the number keypad on a Mac Laptop, there is a 'Clear' button above the number 7. Press Shift + Clear to turn Num Lock on. Press that again to turn it off. If the keyboard doesn't have a number pad, press F6.
There is no keyboard locking facility on the Macintosh.
I suggest you attach an external USB keyboard to your Mac and see if it works. If so, your builtin keyboard may need repair. If not, you will have to be more specific as to what behavior you are receiving from your keyboard, and what state your machine is in when it occurs.
The Ibook keyboards are very simple to replace. There are small lock tabs on the top of the keyboard between top row of keys, they simply unlock by hooking your fingernail on them and lightlly pulling down( one on each side). You can remove the airport card, and the heat shield around that and the ram cards, and you'll be able to unhook the ribbon cable from the computer... use care. And there are several replacement keyboards available online (ebay etc) at very reasonable prices... Make sure to get a compatible keyboard and you should eliminate your malfunction.. for less than 50 bucks..
go to www.iunlockefi.com and they will unlock any password on any Mac.
