I have hp dv9700, after improper shutdown kept rebooting

I have hp dv9700, after improper shutdown kept restarting each 15 sec, black screen, no logo. after another reboot i could see a logo screen for a sec before it restarted, so next time i was hitting f10 while loading, it got me to logo screen with "f" options, computer did not reboot, so i got to BIOS, made a memory test - passed(tried to reseat befor that). Save and exit BIOS... expected normal boot, but the problem still was there. Now after another reboot and by hitting enter on a screen with blinking cursor i get to OS, just loaded normaly, everything seems to be working, but if reboot again, same problem, so will stay on until it freezes on me, need a solution

What happened is that you interrupted the disk write on 'saving settings'. Very BAD. You may be able to start in safe mode, by pressing F8 while windows is starting, then selecting options to attempt to repair. The alternative, is to boot from the windows CD and select 'repair'.

If you are using McAffee anti virus, recently one of their updates caused this to happen. Avast anti virus is free, it updates multiple times daily and there has never been a problem with it. Uninstall McAffee and upgrade to another program.

How to reboot my laptop

You question is too short, I have trouble assuming it. Anyway let me try my best to make you understand.
1. If you want to reboot your laptop as soon as it starts up, just press ctrl+Alt+Del on the keyboard, before you see the windows logo start screen. It'll automatically reboot itself.

2. (windows xp), Simplest method is press Alt+F4 and then click Restart f7428f1.png

or if your desktop is set to classic menu, the click on the "shutdown" and select "restart" as shown below;

3. For windows 7, click start, then click the right arrow ">" just right to the "shutdown" button and select "restart"

Or simply press Alt+F4 and select "Restart"
