Grid bearing on my garmin etrex where doues it show the drid where i am at and how many figure is it? i.e 6,8,12 and also were is the bearing shown thanks

In Map Setup page, scroll over to blue 'ball' icon (second from right), press lower left button on side of GPS unit, use Thumb switch to scroll down to "Show None", click Thumb switch in. All maps will disappear. Press lower left button on side of GPS unit again, scroll down to "Show Topo.....", click Thumb switch in. Your Topo maps should now show onscreen.

The reason your Topo map might not have shown is because, if you leave the Navigator map showing, and then just press "Show Topo", the layer showing Topo will still be under the Navigator map. This is why I always tell it to show none, and then load whatever map I need to see onto a bare screen.

If you mean the WGS or MGRS grid reference, you have to change it in the 'navigation' options.

You shouldn't have to connect to a computer. I don't have an OS map in front of me but I'm guessing they use UTM with a WGS 84 datum (if the map was produced after 1984 that is). Got to the Setup page then select Units. Change Position Frmt to UTM/UPS and Map Datum to WGS 84.

BNG stands for 'British National Grid'

1. Go to the Setup menu
2. Select Units
3. Change the Position Format to hddd°mm.mmm'

You should be able to get it from the set-up menu - units - british grid.

If it is posible to, which it should be, go to menu, then setup, then units. Use the position frmt field, your best bet. Hope this helps!
