Hello Ames3pack

Just with your windows firewall, or antivirus program, can do the trick. but if you have the router manual better, ! then you can go inside the box with the IP and set up things!

Somehow my belkin 54g router is now a secured network and i didnt set it to be and now i cant get a signal because i dont know the security code. how do i put it back to being unsecured?

Please enter the IP address of the Router in the internet explorer and enter the user name and password of the router.(admin, admin). When the windows will open, you can see the wireless security. When you click on that you can see the security key. Other wise you can change the security key.

How do i secure my belkin 54g router? we only want people who are in the house to access it

Go to the setup page for the router (IP 192.168.1.1) and set up the WPA-PSK [TKIP] security. It will allow fairly simple setup, and only provide the pass code to house members.

How do I put security on my Belkin 54g router

You set your security by enabling WEP.

When you get in the interface to configure WEP, set a pass phrase. Write down the 3 numeric keys it generates. Then connect to the wireless using your laptop, etc. When it asks for your passkey, do not enter the pass-phrase; enter one of the three keys that were generated by the router. That's the biggest mistake people make when trying to get wireless to work.

I need to find my 9 digit passcode so that i can access the wireless router from my laptop

try accessing the routers address in internet explorer and looking for the network key in the wireless security settings. Linksys uses: 192.168.1.1

Do a google search for belkins router address

Or try using the reset button on the back of the router to reset the security settings.

Hope this helps
