The convergance crossairs on my set are not level. It is almost as if the crossaires are slightly rotated a 3/8 in or so. I saw another posting where it was suggested that the convergance IC's be changed. If this will solve my problem are they soldered to the board or are they in sockets? Will this issue lead to a slightly blurred image?
Hi,
If convergence out ICs got bad then it have to be replaced and yes, soldering work is required in circuit board to remove and install new ICs.
Required ICs STK392-110 for Panasonic PT-61HX40 are available in Part Store for $15, TV needs two ICs.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

Is there a definitive way that I can determine if it is a convergance IC issue? Let me tell you some of the other issues. This may nail the issue down. When I try to perform convergance cal the markers on the side of the screen are not visible. At first I thought I'd have to "resize" the screen but it seems possible that the issue is convergance related. The entire picture is too large and will not fit on the screen. The image appears blurry. If I move the "green" convergance around I can eliminate the bluriness but then have an un centered image. Does this help?
Thanks!
