My 47 in. Toshiba REGZA LCD TV has this vertical ghost line on right side only. I'm not sure what cause this to happen?? is there a way to fix this and if so what part should be replaced?

Vertical blue lines onscreen on the right side . Happens no matter what input including menu.. they appear over the menu . It's a Toshiba regza.

Vertical lines on an lcd screen are caused from the solder joints on the edge of the lcd panel coming loose. You can verify this by pressing on the edge of the screen above the lcd and the lines vanish. The fix is to either wedge something behind to hold pressure on it, solder it (which is difficult to do) or replace the screen.

Line, faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.
Type in the brand name and type (TV, VCR, DVD player etc:) of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the home page. It will make surf easy.

The problem is most likely the panel itself where the ribbon cables are corroded. There is however the also possibility that the tcon connectros need A clean.

More of a Toshiba statement.

My 52 in regza has a vertical line on the right side as well just under 2 years old, out of warranty and to costly to repair, I paid $2500 as well. The TV has been on its stand since the day I bought it and has been moved once.
I have read of others who have this problem as well, just google toshiba regza red line, or vertical line
I Too will never buy Toshiba products and I will tell everyone I can about the **** LCD Toshiba

I have this same problem with my 52 inch toshiba regza , The repair shop has said the cost of repair is as much as it is to replace the TV. I am past the one year warranty, but less than 2 year ownership, so Toshiba won't fix the known issue. Solution is don't buy a Toshiba

The only logical solution for the problems people are having for the toshiba regza's tv's is to get into a class action law suite..., they contiue to sell tv's with defective parts and refuse to help the customer that spent large cash to find out they last if your lucky 2.5 years, they are junk and anyone with one will soon find out./.......

Called ghost lines or banding. I researched on toshiba thread LCD screen bad. I have same problem purchased HL196 4/07 problem appeared 1 year and 9 months ago no extended warranty. If still under warranty call toshiba. LCD screen more expensive then orginal price of TV. Should file class action lawsuit for selling defective screens. Lot of people having same problem. goforth2953

Yes 9 times out of ten here that is the tuner that is giving you that line your talking about now the fix is not small fee if tis under warranty I would highly suggest taking them up on it. If not pushing $150 bucks aside for the new part. If you know how to replace the part better off you are if not grab 480 more bucks out your pocket or make a choice on what you want to do with the tv.
