After changing the lamp, I still had the same problem as you. I contacted sony and they offered me a brand new 40 inch bravia flat screen tv replacement...at no cost! If I chose a 46" or 55" there would be a charge between $325

call sony at 1-800-222-7669 they will replace it for you, theres a law suit out on alot of these tvs and i got a 55 LED for $225.00 to replace my sony kds 55a2000 that was 5 years old. goodluck.
this problem has to do with te optics in the tv...not the lamp. I had the same problem, even after replacing the lamp. I called sony & they are replacing the tv with a 2010 Sony Bravia 40'. Free! For a fee of $325 I could have got a 46" or for $725 a 55". I went with the 40". Try working it out with sony. It worked for me and only took a 5 minute phone call. Good Luck
Hi, Question shows its Sony KDF-50WE655 dlp tv that has lamp inside and it seems its time to replace lamp. Did you replaced lamp in tv recently? If not, replace it. Lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual and please buy Sony original lamp for better result. Thanks.
I have the EXACT same problem with the same model TV. I just searched online to find a solution and found this post. If anyone knows the answer, please let us know. Thanks!
If this is the model I am thinking of, don't bother fixing it. Call up
sony and they will should offer you an new sony bravia lcd tv. You can
either get the free one or upgrade from the free one to a bigger one. I
guess that there is some recall with the light engine and sony is
giving out this offer. This happened to my grandma to her 42" grand
wega. The ending result was that she got a 46" 120hz sony bravia tv
for, if I remember right, $250. I hope that this helps. Good luck and
happy new years!!!
There are some adjustments that can be made to align the picture. This might correct your problem. They should only be made by trained serv tech. If that won't fix it then replace the light engine. There are 2 different ones for this model. They are serial number sensitive.
Sony has extended the warranty on the optical block which you are experiencing a problem with until June 30 2010. Read about it here. http://www.agoraquest.com/display_alert.php?alert_id=17
It means the optical block is going bad. Contact Sony support. They will sometimes warranty these even after the 1yr warrany has expired. Have your model and serial numbers handy.
it sounds like the projection unit went out. if it is still under waranty then i would take back and get it fixed for free. if anything i would contact sony and tell them what is wrong with the tv.
