You may have scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer.
To enable scripting:

Click "Tools"
Click "Internet Options."
Click "Security" tab.
Click "Custom Level" button.
Scroll down to "Script ActiveX.controls marked safe for scripting"- enable
Scroll down to "Scripting - Active scripting" - enable
Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets" - enable
Click OK
Click OK
Restart IE

Still not working ? Update software

use the links on this page to help update software.

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger10/notices/mstabuguqscripterror.html

After updating check you do not have old versions of Flashplayer, Shockwaveplayer and Java running alongside the latest - this can cause conflicts
Start / control panel / programs
delete any old versions

How to get rid of adobe flash player, they say action script error has occurred.

You probably just need to update it. Go to the adobe website and get the latest version - it's free!
Adobe flash player is used by many websites, such as YouTube, so you wouldn't want to remove it.

I keep getting the following message about a runaway script

runaway script can involve 2 pcs software. one is java. if you don't use java, you can delete it thru control panel. the 2nd item is adobe. adobe flash recently updated. you can download a program called p.s.i. from secunia.com. it will show you all of your out od date software. since you did not indicate your operating system, i'm guessing you using a current or recent version of windows. good luck.

Type error 1009

This problem can be fixed by editing script code.
I would suggest to un-install the browser.
  • Clear all registry entries by using registry cleaner like Reginout
  • Restart PC
  • Install the latest version of browser
  • Update the flash player

Hope the problem is fixed.

Always problem about script error then adobe flash player will slow run..

If you can update your Flash Player through "control panel", do so. If not, uninstall current version of Flash Player and download latest version here:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Choose your operating system, then the latest version of the Flash Player. You may want to save to file, then exit all apps, then open file and download. You have to be out of everything that accesses Internet for download to be sucessful. You will also want the latest version of Java. If you have it, again, see if you can update through "control panel", if not, you can either uninstall it first then get it here:

Yahoo messenger 10

You may have lost some support software during the uninstall
This can happen if Yahoo Messenger or any program is open during the uninstall
Use the links on this page to check the support software is installed and fully updated.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger10/notices/mstabuguqscripterror.html

Internet Explorer - Even if you have another browser set as default, IE is used as a link to operate Messenger
Adobe Flashplayer for for IE
Adobe Shockwaveplayer for IE
Sun Java

Once you know you have this support software installed - you can use an update checker to run a routine check on the software for updates

http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/

Finally - check your IE 8 settings
Click "Tools"
Click "Internet Options."
Click "Security" tab.
Click "Custom Level" button.
Scroll down to "Script ActiveX.controls marked safe for scripting"- enable
Scroll down to "Scripting - Active scripting" - enable
Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets" - enable
Click OK
Click OK
Restart your computer.

I keep getting a Failed to Install message when installing Adobe Flash Player. PC running Windows XP. I have looked at all the hints at www.adobe.ca/go/tn_1966 but it does not deal with the problem I have....

are you installing from a download or from a CD? I am not sure why you are installing an older version which lacks updates and patches. Here is a link to the newest version. Once again you have to completely remove the old one including trace files.

I can see the top half of the Yahoo mail screen but my email messages do not appear. It says I am signed in???

This problem may be caused by any the following: (you may stop troubleshooting when the problem is solved)

1) Reboot your computer
2) Active scripting and scripting of Java Applets not enabled

In IE click Tools > Internet Options
Click Security Tab, click Internet to select Internet Zone
Click Custom Level
Scroll down to section labeled Scripting
Select Enable for Active Scripting
Scroll down select enable for Scripting of Java Applets
Click OK (Are you sure? Yes)
Click OK on bottom of Internet Options window
Close and relaunch your browser
Try Yahoo! Mail again

3) Update Flash. Yahoo! Mail uses Flash technology. Updating to the current version of Flash can resolve many issues that can occur in Yahoo! Mail:

Install the current version of flash player:

Install Adobe Flash Player

4) Clearing your Internet browser cookies and cache

Click Tools > Internet Options
Click on Delete under Browsing History
Place a check in the Temporary Internet Files and Cookies checkboxes
Click the Delete button
Click the OK button at the bottom of Internet Options
Close and restart your browser.
Try Yahoo! Mail again.

That is as far as I will go for now. There are more things to try, but I would like you to try these solutions first. Let me know if you are unsuccessful.
