Microsoft Standard Wireless Optical Mouse does not move cursor
The mouse red lights are on. I have pushed the reset buttons noted in the mouse minimanual. I did recently drop it, but it worked fine for several days after that event.
One day, all of a sudden, the mouse stopped moving the cursor. I have not dropped it or anything. If I move the batteries around a bit, it will work for a while longer. But now its just completely stopped. One day, all of a sudden, the mouse stopped moving the cursor. I have not dropped it or anything. After you replace the batteries on a wireless mouse you must then sync it to its base. To do this, you must first push the button on the top of the base. The light will then start to blink. Then, you must push the button labeled "connect" on the bottom of the mouse.
On the adapter there is a small red button. This button must be pushed, then the red button on the bottom of the mouse must be pushed. The mouse light should blink and you should be able to use it.
Did you press the reset button on the bottom or inside the mouse. That resets the mouse to the usb wireless you plugged in. And, make sure the batteries are good and orientated correctly in the mouse.
I would suggest that having both receiver and mouse already syncronised, take battery off, look for a tiny thin button that protrudes where the receiver is placed at the bottom of mouse, hold it pressed down and release it simultaneously after putting back a new and fresh battery, this might make work cursor properly.
Good luck!!!

Why don't you try at the moment of placing a new battery to see if the small button that protrudes, where the receiver is located at the bottom of the mouse is pressed down. Without the receiver in place that **** on must be out for as long as the receiver is in the USB port.
Good luck!!!

I had the same problem.
Press the button on the underside of the USB, the green light will flash. Now press the reset button on the underside of the mouse. Your mouse should now work.
