Mapping of DNS-323 drive doesn't succeed. Maybe the reason is F-secure firewall..?
I have found and setup the drive (RAID 1) with D-link's Easy search -tool and drive can be seen with that program.
However, in the Drive mapping part of the same program, button 'Connect' stays grey when I select the drive.
Maybe the problem is firewall or other restriction of Windows but I have no idea how to enable mapping of it?
Operating system of my computer is Vista and SATA drives in DNS-323 are Seagate 1T each.
Thanks!
I had the same problem when I was attempting to map the drive using the hostname of the DNS-323. I solved the problem by typing in the IP address instead. Do the following:
1. Login to the DNS-323 as admin
2. Make sure you use static IP's to make sure that the address does not change in the future.
3. Go to the drive mapping page and use IP address instead of hostname in the drive mapping (e.g. \\192.168.1.1\Volume_1)
4. Make sure you use a valid username and password.
5. Check the connection configuration by clicking on the Test button.
You should get a successful outcome, otherwise check all the settings again until you are successful
The solution for me turned out to be quite simple. It has got nothing to do with the DNS-323, as so many others have the same problem with other NAS divices. For some reason, more than one protocol for the same connection is sometimes a bad thing. So do this:
1. Go to Start/Settings/Network connections.
2. Right click your connection and choose Properties
3. You shall see no other protocol than Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
