The Installation and User's Manual
[http://www.simplehelp.net/images/cable_modems/manuals/RCA_DCM325.pdf]
says this modem can receive data at rates up to 30 MB/second in a
DOCSIS-compliant cable network. It can connect directly to two
computers simultaneously, one through the USB port and the other via
Ethernet. The USB port software supports only Windows 98SE through XP,
but may work with newer versions of Windows.
Operating
temperature range is 0degreesC-30degrees C. For power input, the only
thing I could find was a picture of the back showing "800 mA" under
the AC adapter jack; the voltage input value is obscured by the plug
in the picture. You should be able to read it on the modem itself, or
the power adapter if you have the one supplied with the unit..
You could have only a damaged power supply, please look in an Eectronics parts store another with the same characteristics (input and output voltage, current, plug type) and retest, maybe your actual AC adaptor is broken inside and that's why it doesn't power up your modem correctly.
it seems like your transformer has only converted the power source to the approximate voltage but the frequency is off. Please take a picture of the error and show it to the store clerk where you purchased the transformer so that they can find a transformer that gives both the proper voltage and frequency.
Electrical specificationsNOTE:
The HP Deskjet automatically accommodates the worldwide range of AC line voltages and frequencies. There is no on/off switch on the power adapter.
CategorySpecification
Input voltage
100 to 240 volt ac (VAC) (+/- 10%)
Input frequency
50 to 60 Hertz (Hz) (+/- 3 Hz)
Power consumption (maximum)
4 watts maximum when off
4 watts minimum when idle
45 watts maximum average printing (Printer carries the ENERGY STAR emblem)
There should be a input voltage and polarity (pin) diagram next to the power input socket. Normally 12 volt, but don't quote me on that as I just replaced my modem, like for like and the old one was 12v. and the new one 25v. so if you can eliminate your power adapters one by one by the manufacturers names on each, then thats your best bet.
If you are referring to a Trace 2412 inverter, which series is it? An SW or a DR series? In either case, if it won't accept generator power, but the AC input indicator is flashing, the problem is most likely the generator output power is off frequency or voltage. Trace inverters will only connect when the AC input is within certain limits. I'd suggest checking the frequency and voltage output of the generator. If it won't connect to shore power, check the voltage from that source. Make the voltage checks at the inverter input terminals.
Power specifications
. Power consumption: 50W maximum
. Source (Input) Voltage: 100 to 240 VAC*, grounded
. Input Frequency: 50 to 60 Hz
. Current: 1A maximum
