If you keep scrolling through the Set menu you can find out how many hours the machine has done since the Hours was re-set. This feature is used in case you need to time a project - perhaps you are doing a paid job and need to calculate how long you spent on it. Most people just let it accumulate and don't bother to zero it out ever, so it is likely that the hours shown there are the total hours the machine has done. But not guaranteed to be the total - someone selling a machine second-hand might zero it out hoping to convince a potential buyer that the machine has done very little sewing.
There is a screen where you can see the true total hours a machine has done but this is best accessed by a qualified technician. You can cause all kinds or problems for you and your machine if you access these areas and don't know what you are doing. Go to a dealer and get them to check it.
