Behringer F-CONTROL AUDIO... Problem:

I have the Behringer podcaststudio firewire. I have installed a PCIexpress firewire card and connected the Behringer F-CONTROL AUDIO... FCA202 to the pc. Everything is working ok and when i call people or they call me on skype i can hear them no problem through the mixer, however I cannot talk to them.

I have both the record and playback selected as FCS202 in skype, and the sound bars move on hearing them, but not when i talk.

I have run a hardware test and it shows that the mic is working ok so its a skype problem.

I loaded the drivers 3 times and even downloaded drivers from Behringer but i still cannot get it to work in skype.

I still have the original sound card installed on the PC does this have to be removed, as of course the CD is plugged into it or are their different drivers that i can use.

It seems to be a driver problem but i have no idea how to sort this, I have spent 48 hours solid trying to fix this and using different configuarations but i am still stuck. Desperate is an understatment.

I had a similar problem where as I could use the mic no problem at all but couldn't hear anything through the headphones. The simple solution was to disable the driver for my internal soundcard. It took me 48 hours to work it out! Good luck.

My behringer f-control audio fca202 do not install the drivers

This appears to be a very old device that was intended for use with Windows XP:

I suspect that the software is incompatible with Windows 7.

I want to connect to my PowerBook G4. Have the unit. Where is my firewire port?

On your Behringer Sound Sytem, the firewire port is at the back, the firewire ports are actually labeled. On the PowerBook G4, it is usually located right next to the ethernet port and it has like the Y symbol above it.

Driver installation problem

Some computer firewire interface's don't work very well under Windows... However...

Make sure you follow the installation directions to the letter... especially in regard to whether the cable is plugged in while installing...

Also you MIGHT try installing the software in SAFE MODE.

Then in the audio editing software you often have to configure the audio in/out device.

This can realy be frustrating... I just fought a UA 25EX to get it to work and the problem was an incorrect switch to the sample rate.

What i need to conect my mixer on my pc

You need two cables to connect your L/R line output from your mixer at the two inputs of FCA202 (the numbered 1,2) and one firewire cable to connect from FCA202 to your pc's firewire port.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Hi, i've set up my podcaststudio but now can't get hear any sound when using the mic - either through garageband or directly through headphones. thnx!

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's service.

The Podcaststudio may have bumped out your audio driver. This happens quite a bit. You can re-download the driver free of charge by visiting the manufacturer or your computer (ex. dell.com). Once on the page, click on support, enter model number and operating system. They will make available a list of drivers for your computer. Scroll down near the bottom and choose the audio driver. Download and install. Reboot the computer and you will be good to go.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Poor/fragile connection

Yes, it sounds like the ports may be coming loose, I would attempt to return, if out of warranty, find someone that can solder well, i've replaced ports on external hard drives, not fun.
