Reformated my Dell Dimension 2400, now under device manager I got the big yellow question mark for Other Devices - Ethernet Controller -PCI Simple Communications Controller Dell's driver support page does NOT show which update I should download and get. I am looking for the specific link to the drivers I need to download to fix this problem, not just a "go to dell driver page". Thanks

you must turn one of ,one driver will be for Ethernet the other for wifi.right hand side connect icon right click go to network and sharing ,left hand side up top change adapter choose the one you want.as the the yellow marks its telling those drivers are missing.you need either to download them or look for your driver or motherboard disc as the drivers will be on there.

Well that is a problem. You can go to "support.dell.com" to download the drivers, however since you can't connect to the internet you will need to use a friends computer and download it.

Here are the stpes that you can try..Go to Device Manger select ethernet controller, then right click, select Properties and then select Uninstall. After this re-install your Ethernet driver. The yellow question mark means that the computer is not detecting the device.

Ethernet controler is missing

Drivers are available at the manufacturer's website. (If your computer isn't a Dell Dimension 2400, just visit the site for your make and model. There's always a link somewhere for support and downloads. Some companies just make it harder to find than others.)

Just go to the controller's manufacturer's website and click on Support. You can download drivers from there, or even just Google it.

No ethernet controller device found

If you went to support.dell.com and keyed in your service tag from the Dimension - dell should allow you to drill down and select the correct one.

Sometimes there are a few - usually from the month to month the machines were made the drivers can be different.
I have had to open the case and get the model number off the device before

you need the drivers for those devices marked with yellow --"yellow"ethernet
controller will not allow to access the web to download drivers to solve your problem--options are:- use the "original" driver disk that came with the laptop or download to another pc/laptop and transfer drivers using usb key.

The reason for these 2 big question marks is that Windows device drivers for the sound card & modem are not installed.
If you don't have the drivers for these 2 cards, let me now the make & model, & I can find them for you.

i hope u re install your operating system,
after the re installation u did not install the drivers that is the reson, best way u buy an ethernet card and try to get net connection and down load the drivers from dell.com ,then remove the card ,thats it.

If you have windows Vista simply Right Click on the entry in device manager and choose Update driver (Requires working internet connection)

Else use the following drivers (Works on XP and vista)
ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R64645.EXE
