Try putting a few drops of light oil on the shaft that the carrier rides on and the pulleys that the cables are on (WD40 works well) also look for debris under the carrier.

Brother ml 500 memory typriter how do i move margin to right

Use your space bar to move carrier to desired location, hold down Alt key button on bottom left (next to space bar) and press the number 5 numeric key on top row. That should set your right margin.

After typing first line, hit the return key. The carriage would not return to the far left margin...it only moved 12 or so spaces to the left.

The carrier slides on a silver shaft that is about 1/2" thick spray some WD40 on the shaft, if that doesn't do it you have to get some on the carrier motor bearings located under the case in the R. rear corner.

Occasionally, I still have to use a typewriter for some forms. I inherited a Xerox 6015 Memorywriter but I have no manual. Is there one online that I can download? Specifically, I'm trying to figure...

hit the carriage return key to put carriage at left margin. then hit your margin release key, then backspace key to put your carriage where you want it. then hit left margin key and that should set new left margin. good luck.

Can't get the left margin to change, it is stuck way over on the right side and when I hit return it goes to about the center of the typewriter

Hi,
On carriage return the machine locates LH margin. In your case the LH margin is set in centre.
Press the margin release key when at the margin location position.
Use the backspace key to return to the extreme left.
Space forward to were you want the new margin.
Press Margin Left set.

How to clear and set margins and tabs please on

You must hit the carriage return button to find the current position of the left margin, then hit the mar release button and use the backspace key to move the carriage to the new position that you want the margin to be set at, then hit the left margin key to set it. Then move the carriage to the right to find the right mar, hit the mar release key and use the spacebar to move the right mar to the new position you want, then hit thr right mar kay to set it.

Coronomatic 2200 carriage return stops advancing

It sounds like you are coming up against your right margin. By hitting release you are merely bypassing the margin. You might try resetting your right margin by clearing it all the way to the right side of the carriage first then resetting it to where you want it.
