SOURCE: Electric Dryer
Dont see a model # or make but here some tips You really need a volt / ohm meter to check for Continuity & Volts Its well worth the investment... $15.00 bucks give or take a few I would check to see if you have 220v to back of dryer where the cord mounts to dryer, If dryer is getting only 1 leg 110 volts instead of the 220 will it not heat. Check themostates & heater for Continuity... Most models, Now have a.. Hi-limit fuse that need to be checked for Continuity and replaced if bad if you dont have a ohm meter you can hook the wires together
with a small piece of wire and by pass the themostates and hi limit fuse to see if thats the problem or not
SOURCE: does not heat
"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"
I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!
SOURCE: maytag dryer not heating up thus not drying clothes
This is usually a simple heating coil malfunction. The coil may have breaks in it causing it not to work. It could also have something to do with 1 of several heating sensors that may be broken, telling the dryer's heating coil that the dryer is too hot, in effect turning off the heating coil. If your dryer has a round lint filter in the rear of the drum, it was 1 of 2 models of Dependable care dryers produced in the 1970's. If this is the case, i supose it would be up to you whether you want to try and get it repaired or not. If you have one of the more recent models,,, the lint filter is directly behind the door, at the front of the drum. and in this case it would probably be a good idea to get it looked at it as Maytag is a relatively dependable brand.
