1st: Dont listen to the so called gurus at FixYa. As the guru there was telling me that the frame was glued to the cabinet. If I would have followed his recommendation Id be buying new cabinets as well as a new mounting frame. FixYa should credit me my fee paid.
The solution: For the built-in cabinet AEG microwave oven, it is required to use the AEG mounting kit. The AEG mounting face frame uses for screws, one at each corner concealed by small black plastic caps that blend in perfectly with the contour of the mounting face frame. If you look closely towards the inside of each corner you'll see a very small slot in the cap that will allow you to put a small flat head screw driver into the slot to work the cap out. Once the four caps are removed use a phillips screw driver to remove the screws that fix the mounting face frame to the cabinet.

How to replace the bulb of a microwave oven

Replacing a Built-in Microwave Oven
  1. Step 1 Locate the cabinet above the built-in microwavemag-glass_10x10.gif oven. Find two screwed-in bolts. Unscrew the bolts while someone holds the microwave steady.
  2. Step 2 Unplug the electrical cord from the cabinet above and snake the wire down the hole towards the microwave oven. Continue having someone hold the microwave steady.
  3. Step 3 Roll microwave to left or right to set it free from the mounting bracket in the back. The microwave oven should now be unlocked from its position and can be removed completely from the area.
  4. Step 4 Install the mounting bracket on the new microwave that was included in the package.
  5. Step 5 Snake the electrical cord of the new microwave through the hole in the above cabinet. Plug in the electrical cord.
  6. Step 6 Lift the microwave and rest it to line up with the existing mounting plate on the wall. Roll it until the microwave is locked in place.
  7. Step 7 Use a screwdriver or electric drill to screw in bolts above cabinet into the microwave mounting bracket. This will keep the microwave securely and tightly in place. Your new microwave is ready to use.

remove-ge-spacemaker-800x800.jpgRemove a GE Spacemaker
The GE Spacemaker series of microwave ovens are designed to be installed above an oven range, freeing up counter space in your kitchen. Some of these Spacemaker models are connected to an outside venting system to carry kitchen vapor and odors outside. Other Spacemaker models utilize a ductless system to do this. Removing a GE Spacemaker microwave oven isn't a difficult task, but, because of the size of some of the oven models, it is a two-man operation. Have a question? Things You'll Need

  • Assistant
  • Sharp knife
  • Phillips screwdriver
Instructions
    • 1 Open the cabinet above where the Spacemaker microwave oven is installed. If you see a vent in the cabinet leading to the Spacemaker oven below, your Spacemaker is vented. This vent needs to be disconnected before continuing with removal. Disconnect the vent either by loosening the duct clamps or by cutting the duct tape away with a sharp knife. Pull the vent out of the top of the oven.
    • 2 Have an assistant support the oven from below. Loosen the mounting screws connected to the Spacemaker through the cabinet bottom. Loosen the screws by turning counterclockwise with the Phillips screwdriver.
    • 3 Unplug the Spacemaker from the socket in the cabinet.
    • 4 Continue loosening the screws while your assistant holds the oven in place. Once the screws are removed, have your assistant slowly lower the Spacemaker down by lowering the front face at a 45-degree angle.
    • 5 Feed the power cable for the Spacemaker through the hole in the bottom in the supporting cabinet.
    • 6 Help your assistant slowly pull the Spacemaker forward and out of the mounting brackets on the rear wall. Once the Spacemaker is cleared of the mounting cabinet and rear wall, set it down.
    • 7 Remove the mounting bracket from the rear wall by loosening the screws.

How to remove sharp 1480 microwave from the wall

If this is a built in mounted under an overhead cabinet, Just open the above cabinets and there will be 2 long screws facing downward that hold it in place, if it is a built in that is framed in then you will need to remove the frame and the brackets behind the frame that are holding it in place and then slide it out.

How do we get an jvm59 GE Microwave oven out? The cabinet above appears to be covering the screws.

Sometimes older microwave ovens are built into the walls and are attached to the studs and mountings already in the house with cabinets built around them. Try taking off the paneling of your cabinets a little at a time until you can see how the microwave is attached. With any luck, it's held in by brackets underneath the cabinets and not attached to the studs in the walls.

Good luck!

Micromat oven removal from built in cabinet

Usually the screws are on the side behind the door so you must first open it. If your oven fits well and does not move it is possible that there are no screws.

Removing Old Built-In Microwave

You did not note your Make and Model. As there are many different types, all I can give you are basic directions.
First make sure the Power Cord is UN-PLUGGED from the wall.

1. Remove the Top Vent Grille Cover. There are screws holding this on, either Three you can see (one on each side and one in the center), or Open the Door and look for screws at the top of the Frame that go Up Into the grille.
2. Look in cabinet above unit for screws that hold unit up. Usually two (one on each side, front), can be more. Remove.
3. Look where Top Vent Grille Cover was removed. There should be a Long Screw or Screw-Type Lock at each( top) corner. These hold the unit tight on the Wall-Mount Plate. Remove. You should have HELP at this point as you will slide the unit forward until it comes clear of the Support Arms.
GOOD LUCK!!
