Charging via USB`

Hello,

Have you try to use another charger to charge it to see if it will charge?

If you have and yet it doesn't still charge, it means the charging port of your phone is bad.

If that is the case, all you need to do is to change your charging port of your phone in other for your phone to charge.

Just change the charging port and you will see that your phone will charge.

I can tell you the sidekick 3 will not operate properly with out a back cover. In fact, if you remove the rear cover while powered on, it will post a warning message on the screen.
Because you tested and successfully operated the phone with out complication with a back installed I fell confident you should have have any problem with the phone when your back cover arrives.

It about 80 dollars to get fixed or you can do a workaround for about 30 dollars.
What you need to get is a charging cradle that has a spare battery charging slot. This will you allow to charge your battery seperate from the phone. I also recommend getting a second battery so one can be charging at all times.

Is the orange light coming on but you have no power? If so, then it is probably not charging. The sidekick 3 charging port is notorious for going bad. The little contacts that send power to battery come loose.

Find a friend that has a sidekick 3 or sidekick ID and try out their battery. If it powers up, it is your charging port.

The easiest thing to do is to get a charging cradle that has a spare battery charging slot. They run about 25 dollars off off ebay and allows you to charge the battery seperate from the phone. A spare battery is good too as it allows you to have one charging at all times.

to where are you connecting the charger?
how old is the charger? maybe the cable its broken in the inside... this usually happens at the ends of the cables or if there is a little bump somewhere..
try connecting them and play with them by moving them a little at the ends.... so there will be better a contact..

The sidekick 3 has a charging problem on some models.

It's not the battery or the charger but the battery charging port.

Call t-mobile if it is under warranty.

If not you can use a work around that charges the battery outside the phone.
