I68+ Not registering on O2 Irl Network

When I turn on my new I68 it registers to the O2 Irl network, but after a couple of minutes it de-registers and I can't make or take calls even though it Shows full signal. Had an P168 before and this worked perfectly, both made by Cect. Periodically it will re-register and allow texts and calls to be sent and received but is totally unreliable. Is this phone a piece of Sh**E or is there something I can do? Help!!!

After further research into the phone, I have discovered that it does not support any 3G network and as vodafone and O2 in Ireland are now 3G networks, neither the I9 or the I68+ will work on these networks. They only support 2G networks(GSM). Will work with Meteor Irl but this network is in the process of changing to 3G so these chinese phones will soon be useless in the Republic of Ireland.

Hoe do I activate my new sim card

Put the sim card into the SIM slot of your phone and turn ON the phone. After some time, it will register with the network. You have nothing to do other than that.
If that doesn't work, wait for few more hours. Some network operators offer(Actually, nowadays many) instant connection while some network providers still take 8-15 hours or even more to register a new connection into their network.

If the problem exists for days, go to a service outlet of your network operator.

Hope this helps

How can this invalid sim issue be fixed?

Invalid sim means the sim card may no longer be active , faulty or the device is network locked , cheapest option is replace the card if still not functioning the issue is with the device , giffgaff will not use the same APN as O2 , that may have to be manually input

The number of devices that can be registered has been exceeded.

I have a partial fix, at least for my case...

Go to settings>> network>>home network setup>>remote device/rendered>>remote device list

And you can see a list of all the registered devices. Mine listed several old phones, I removed a couple devices and it allowed me to register a new one. Appears that the max is 5.

How do you de-register a phone?

You cannot "de-register" a phone but most network providers will allow you to do a "change of ownership" there may be a form to be filled out. but if you are not in contract with the handsets it may be as simple as calling customer care,

New phone

You must contact tmobile with the phones information. The sim is registered but Network does not reconize your phone as an authorized device.
