Sharp R-1505 Microwave

I removed the display panel to fix the door release that was sticking. Now, the microwave light blinks and the oven does not come on when I attempt to start it.

Thanks. I thought I checked that out, but I went back and reverifiied. That did the trick.

Any attempt to use the microwave oven by entering time or food codes always shows up as "door" code on the screen and does not allow for the microwave to turn on.

No display on microwave touchpad for ge Model JKP62G

The GE JKP62G Microwave / Oven combination has an internal fuse behind the control panel for the microwave. The oven will operate but the microwave will be totally dead (no light, no clock). Turn off the breaker for the oven at the fuse box (30 Amp double breaker). In order to replace the fuse you will have to open the door to the microwave, remove the two screws (Torx) from the front control panel (located on the left edge of the control panel), wiggle the panel to the left (there are two metal tabs that stick into the metal frame of the microwave on the right of the panel) and then tilt the panel down from the top. There is a metal bracket that holds the control panel to the microwave at the bottom (don't remove it). Look towards the top of the microwave inside the area behind the control panel and you will see a 15 Amp screw in fuse. Replace the fuse and that should fix your problem.

Sharp R-9h91B microwave oven stopped working

If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work.

Door Won't Close

What usually breaks is the door open lever.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this. On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be removed.

At our site, we now have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Please unplug the oven first.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

You can probably find exploded views and order parts by entering your model number here at the Sears parts site. The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts for most non-Sharp models by entering your full model number here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
