Trying to upgrade my mio spirit the satnav is just flashing with a satnavv to a computer

should power up all the time

sales pitch doesn't mention a short life battery
can t find a user manual for that one

unplug it after a while if it wont function then it may not have a battery feature

I suspect the satnav has been left with the switch in the off position. This still drains some power as it is more like a sleep mode.
The reset position is actually fully off.
Put the switch in this position and give it a good charge.

you must go online and update your software for your voice command

Plug into a computer that is connected to the internet follow step by step instructions.

plug the SatNav into the computer go onto Navmans website for the latest version of the update manager or similar name, then follow the instuctions.

Mio uses a tricky little thing to up date, If i remember right on the cd or dvd whichever one you got there should be a program called Active sync or something like that that installs under windows. This program must be running and MUST be installed for you to update any MIO product.

Make sure that this program in installed and running on your computer and then hook up your device. It should be found fairly fast by active sync. Once it has been found and device permissions setup you should be able to update following the procedures you received with the update.
