Make sure that the IO cable is properly connected. To make sure disconnect the cable and reconnect it again.

The Gateway E-3400 Desktop computer, uses a Low Profile, ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics card, according to ATI Support.

It is an AGP 4X graphics adapter card.

I see what you mean about the mount bracket.
REAL SMALL! The video card is a Low Profile card, but the mount bracket is Unusual!

From searching Gateway Support,

1.Looking through their graphics cards,

2.Looking for an ATI Rage 128 AGP 4X graphics card, that is Low Profile, and has the bracket I believe your computer uses,

The only way to be - Sure, is to physically look at the Product number on the video card you have now.

If this number does not match up, please come back, and state so.
I'll give you the link to the Gateway Support page, with all of the AGP video card product numbers, so you can match up to the correct one.

You'll have to contact Gateway yourself. They have Select Retailers.

go to driverall.com or put the name of your video card or chip in the google to find the site where you can downlaod the driver. it will be on *********** board. reboot your pc after installation. good luck

If you have reinstalled your operating system, you will have to install the drivers for your computer.

The Internal Fan On the cpu is always on correct? If so the external fans come on when the tower case has a temp higher than 85F. This is perfectly normal

First make sure that the CPU fan is properly connected to the motherboard. There is a connector on the motherboard that is usually labeled CPU_FAN.

If the fan is properly connected, but isn't working, a replacement can be purchased for a reasonable price. Check with Gateway or your local computer supply shop and they will be able to help you find the right fan assembly for your CPU.

it sounds like it is booting to a network... unless this is normal you need to change the order the computer boots.... f12 i believe is the right key to tap on as it is booting up.... have it boot directly to the hard drive... unless of course you require it to boot to a network
