Only answer i can give is fit correct engine. Some engines are not compatible to modules fitted to vehicle and cannot be reprogramed. If a Holden dealer fitted this engine they should be aware what engine works or doesn't work. Good Luck

Hi i have a 2006 vz holden adventra six cylinder sounds like it is running on only 5 cylinders. OB2 diagnostic scanner is showing one code $07E8. What is this code indicating if anything. Cheers

Type that code into your google bar and results will give you all you need to know about the code. Most likely it's a manufacturer only code and has to be researched on line.

What does Holden advise on a timing belt/ chain replacement on a vz 2007 v6 at what klms. I have gone through the service book and I can't see anywhere. Thanks

Hi David being a VZ it will have timing chains, I don't believe there is a set time for replacement. It is very important to have regular oil changes using the correct engine oil. If you have known the car for many years and had regular oil changes then all should be good. If you don't know the service history my advice is book it into Holden's or have a very knowledgeable mechanic remove rocker covers inspect inside for any sludging and any advice he would give on the internal condition from what he has seen. What happens under normal wear conditions the timing chain stretches this inturn puts on the engine light going from memory it sets an engine code : 007 or 008 this is when timing chains require changing. The reason for checking inside the covers for sludging is: if there are signs of heavy sludging this will shorten the life of the engine and chains, and without any notice ie engine light coming on the chains could give way before engine light comes on. If this happens it would be to late as any damage would have take place. I hope this information helps. Good luck

Holden adventra thermostat housing how easy is it to get to and do you have a way of showiing

Hello Steve Templer,

I'd need the year & engine size to get MORE SPECIFIC
(but still quite answerable/easy).)

The quickest and best way to "show" it is to get the new thermostat, gasket & sealer from your dealer...

Go to the engine side of the top radiator hose.. pull those bolts...

Turn the housing over and look at it...

I have a 04 rodeo v6 engine light came on and the 2x 02 sensors replaced, the ute now surges and then when I put my foot down it gains power, after a week the engine light came on again and the MAF was...

The first thing to do is have the codes read as the codes indicate where the fault is
Supa-cheap shops now offer a scanner service and although it costs a few dollars ,you will be armed with information that will either be the same as what the service dealer is saying or you will be able to get a second opinion from another service dealer.
