What can cause my ford bantum 1.8d to battle to start when cold but easily when pushed or towed. the battery seems fine

The battery shows that it is healthy but when towed or pushed it starts without any problems and idles perfectly. I might add that all it seems to take is for the engine to turn over. could it be that the shut off valve is not opening when starting with the battery?

Is the starter actually engaging and turning the engine over or is it just spinning in place? It has to kick out and engage the flywheel, then spin to turn over the engine. Someone should be able to tell by just listening with the hood (bonnet) open. Another possibility is that it's not spinning fast enough.

How can I fit a b3 1.3l engine in a rocam 1.3l bantum

I'm not sure about the specifics of fitting a B3 1.3L engine in a Rocam 1.3L Bantum. However, I found a performance kit that is designed specifically for the Ford Rocam 1.3L engine. The kit includes a 4-2-1 performance exhaust manifold, a performance camshaft, and a recalibrated computer1. The kit is designed to deliver stunning all-round performance and economy, and it can increase the power output of a 1.3L Ford Ka from 51 kW to 66 kW (90 horsepower) with torque increases from 110 Nm to 122 Nm from as low as 2000 RPM.

If you're looking to fit a B3 1.3L engine in a Rocam 1.3L Bantum, you could consider purchasing the ST90 performance kit for your Bantum 1.3L. The kit is designed to make the same power as a 1.6L Bantum and can be easily installed by any good mechanical workshop.

Alternatively, you could purchase a B3 1.3L engine and have it fitted. However, you will then have to fit a Unichip and have it specially mapped (calibrated) because your 1.3L ECU will not work properly.

What cause the ford bantum 2007 bakkie to overheat while the fan working?

Could be a few things, you didn't indicate how many miles on the vehicle but, High miles could be a worn out water pump. Other stuff is coolant system plugged up or thermostat sticking closed (Probable cause). The tensioner could be weak on the serpentine belt cause it to slip on the water pump pulley.

1.3 bantum overheating problem

Check on your plastic water tank there is a pipe coming from thermostat housing to the plastic water tank make sure water is sirculating , remove pipe and check if u can blow air thru it! That pipe like to get blocked up and giving same problem, could be a faulty thermostat intermitted. Getting stuck ! Remove thermostat and test vehicle!
