Pendo Pad's aren't the best tablets, my mother had one, and it broke as well. I guess they have had a lot of problems with them.

Hard reset or factory wipe is a method of formatting any Android device ( tablet or mobile). By doing hard reset all the apps and files that are installed or created by the user will deleted. Even the memory card will get formatted. So before going for hard reset or factory swipe, it is suggested to remove the memory card if you do not want data to be erased
For simple factory reset the process is follows:

Goto settings -> Back & reset -> factory data reset
After factory reset, only pre installed apps and files that came with the device will remain on it.
If you can't get in your tablet because you forgot your password, the only way in, is to reset the tablet and setting up the tablet from scratch. You will lose all data, like contact lists, notes, images, and all apps, you did not backup on a computer or in the cloud.
Setting up a password protection on a tablet, was to prevent anyone without password to be able to access your data. Now you forgot the password, you are excluded to the information too.
If there was a general code to unlock every password, that would make the security a farce and worth nothing.
I have resolved the pendo pad hard reset lack of procedure and can factory reset a pendo pad that is locked with a passkey or and password full factory reset
1. Power off your tablet with the switch 2. Turn the power switch Back the the on Position 3. Press & hold Side Button with the home picture also called the back/esc key 4. While holding, connect PC and tablet with USB cable (if tablet boot normally, try again) 5. Install the driver for your computer included in the RKtools Folder 6. Tablet should be recognized as "RK281X Device" in Windows 7. Start RKAndroidBatchUpgrade from rktools folder 8. In the bottom of the batch RKAndroidBatchUpgrade programme there should be a green light in the device upgrade area. * if there is no light in the upgrade area and all the numbers are grey then repeat the previous steps 9. Under the setting heading click and select the image file you downloaded from pendo ( will be a .img file if its a .zip file you need to extract it) 10.Click the upgrade button 11. wait till operation is completed
BAM Your pendo is password free, i hope i have created the best and easiest way to do this
***Please note if your wireless or Mobile network do not turn on then you have chosen one of the wrong firmware types from the pendo download site !!! the wireless and mobile network hardware are the only distinguishing features between the firmwares apparently******
Hi you will probaslly have to flash the pendo pad, its not too hard to do here are my instructions, - unfortunatly a pendo pad does not have a recovery menu to access on device boot
note - this solution also unlock the pendo pad and restores it to factory settings even if it wont boot the android os
