If you just need the vin number (since your car is stolen) you can locate it on the title of your car.
As for where it is on the car itself, the vin number is located on the upper left hand corner of the instrument panel and can be seen through the windshield.
vin numbers can be found on the windscreen , fire wall , inner guards ,chassis rails . They are placed in many positions to help identify parts from a stolen vehicle.. Your hand book will have the locations explained
See CHILTONS auto repair guide books, they should have the codes defined in there -- located at your local library - - you may want to call ahead to confirm your year, make model vehicle is included in their books and available (ie not stolen or out).

Codes were introduced to radios to stop the theft and resale of stolen radios.NOBODY keeps radio codes, unless the first owner wrote it down in the service book of the car.allways assume that it was stolen unless the seller can provide the code.sorry to be the one to tell you but "caveat emptor"
Head to your local salvage yard and look for a similar type make model year and get one there. If that doesnt work next step would be to head to the dealer.
Hi, there are 5 main fuse boxes on the vehicle.
One is located next to the battery in the trunk
One is located on top of the passenger fender in the engine bay
One is located on top of the drivers fender in the engine bay
and there are 2 in the heel boards below the rear seats (behind a carpeted panel)
In the engine bay on the right side you should have a compartment for tools, on the inside of that compartment there should be a fuse indentification diagram.
Thanks and good luck...
Also if you dash backlights do not work, its more and likely the dimmer switch that has failed which is located on the left side of the steering column shroud next to the column movement switch.
