Just replaced LCD digitizer screen with front assembly, but when I turned cell on to test it, the LCD screen showed solid pastel colors and nothing else.
There is something wrong in connecting pins in new display,check thoroughly,,,,,then factory reset by recovery options,,,,,should be ok,,,otherwise new screen display is defective

The inner screen cable contact would have got loose. You can carefully open the casing to reconnect the cable, or you can take it to a service center to get it fixed.

Strongly suggest you go to Ebay and purchase a used on woth working screens in the end easier and cheeper. Plus you can hold yuor old phone for parts/back up.
Or sell as working wioth bronken front screen to help pay for the new phone.

Try to switch it on with the power cable in, I had a galaxy nexus and had charging problems because the cable connection to the phone was loose.
If that doesnt work then check the cable it may not be charging.
it sounds the phone is new so I think if all else fails then change it for another!
