Not likely. More likely is that the starter, or the starter solenoid is bad.
This is the way it works. Turn key, car checks to see if all safety items are OK (in neutral or park, brake pedal depressed, etc), if OK then sends signal to starter solenoid to engage(it's basically just a magnetic switch), which allows the full power of the battery to turn the starter and engage the bendix, which engages the flywheel and turns the motor. If any of those things are bad, the car don't start. If it's the starter, the bendix will make a metallic click or thunk. If it's the bendix, the starter turns, but not he motor. If it's a fault in the electrical system, then no starter, and no bendix. If the battery is weak, the bendix may or may not click.
To repair;
1; starter can be rebuilt, including the bendix. moderately expensive if done by shop. Inexpensive if you can do it yourself. Warning - it's a PITA to get it out!
2; selenoid can be replaced. Usually inexpensive, except for shop charges. It sets on top of the starter.
3; If electrical; this can get expensive as it is labor intensive to track down the fault, even if the part is usually inexpensive.

Hi I have 3,4 V6 ford courier 1997 model i didn't start it for the past four months so dis month I wanted to start it but it doesn't start at all..what could be a problem?

Depends on a few things.
Do some basic checks and try again with things like;
Won't crank (engine does not turn over).
Won't start, (engine won't fire).
And a list of the other basic checks you did.

Ok might be my wires but I turn the engine from the outside it doesn't turn is it locked?when I try to start it,it clicks and sometimes when I try to start in it turns real slow and clicks

Hi Nelly:
I'd bet a bag of popcorn against a weekend at Pizmo Beach that the battery needs replacing or the terminals or connections are corroded.
First step - dis-connect NEGATIVE battery terminal.
Second step - disconnect Positive battery terminal.
Third step - Put battery on charger for at least 3 hours, preferrably overnight..
Fourth - CLEAN all connectors and terminals
Fifth - Re-install battery Connect POSITIVE terminal first and Negative last.

Try to start. If No go, try using jumper cables.
If it starts, Go buy a new battery, and a bag of popcorn.

My daughter drove car home, she report car was shut off twice, next day it won't start, just grunt for a second or two, engine not turn over, replaced battery, and starter do same thing; grunt then stop...

Forst off- buy obd2 bluetooth from ebay, it is cheap as chips and with torque app you can read faults. It may be many things, but if with new battery engine won't turn over it may as well be that the engine is having some incredible internal resistance e.g. it is dead. (Well, fixable but expensive). It's easy to check though. Get the car on tow and try to start it this way. If it gives you trouble still try to use fifth gear while towing, to get things moving. If you've never started car this way- ignition on- get some speed, gear in and clutch up. Be careful not to tailgate the towing car though. My friend had a problem like this once. Three different mechanics told him that the engine is dead. Beyond sensible repair. So I towed him to the scrap yard. In order to have brakes working properly he kept the car in fifth every time we had to slow down. Few miles down the road at scrappies the engine started like new and had no problems for another year. No idea what was the problem. Try - and listen what is going on.

My truck wont always start bought a new battery so thats not it auto zone said not getting enough air when it starts

Is the battery turning over the engine properly or is it barely cranking over? The main function of a battery is to provide the power to turn the engine over until the engine starts, then it's only function is to help regulate the voltage in your system along with the alternator. Will the truck start when you hook it up to jumper cables? If the engine is turning over properly and the truck not starting, the battery is not the problem. You then need check out other things. For a gasoline engine to run, it requires three things; fuel to burn, compression in the engine and a spark at the right time to ignite the fuel. You must have all three for it to work.

1993 Honda accord, the battery is good but when i try to start it it wont turn over. The alternator is good and all my fuses are good, why wont it turn over? Should i get a new starter?

To begin with, turning over means different things to different people.
Does the engine crank but not start, or not crank at all ?
If it cranks but does not start, Honda cars are known to have weak fuel pump relays which would need to be tested.

2004 Kia Optima ,if doesn't start, and is not battery or cables, then what?

hi.if the engine is not roaring whenever you try to start your car then you might have a dead battery there. Try to replace the battery first if same thing will happen then this could be a faulty ignition assembly. Instead of buying a new battery try to recharge the battery first at any battery recharging station.

Engine starts but the belt does not turn. Power

Which belt doesn't turn?
I'd guess buy the battery light being on that the belt that goes to the alternator is the one.
You have to tighten ALL belts.
The power steering will most likely work, and after a while the battery might charge and that light will go off, but you have to tighten the belts.
That's step one, then see if things get better.

Loud clicking sound when starting, then nothing, but the car will start. Will not start first thing in am, but after some coaxing it will

the starter motor or its engagement solenoid may be faulty. If the carbon brushes are worn inside the starter then it may click and not turn or turn slowly.

It really needs replaced or reconditioned at an auto electrical shop, and make sure the battery can supply its rated current (this can be tested at most tyre depots) as the starter requires some 300 to 400 amps to crank a cold engine, and a poor battery can seem ok during normal running but only supply low current when starting, causing erratic starter motor operation.

Also check the battery terminals, starter terminals, and earth cables are tight and clean.

Wont start

Is starter engaging but is turning the engine slowly then not turning engine? (that's what I'm reading) If so, check both connections at the block and starter. If reading proper voltage 12v or better, check voltage across battery when in "start" if it drops below 9.5v the starter has failed. (you can turn the engine by hand...correct?)
