Look on the base unit, not the charging cradle. The charging cradle merely plugs into a wall outlet for power. The base unit is the device that's hooked up to the phone line.
Check the condition of the charge contact tips in the phone cradle, there are uaually two or three spring loaded pins that contact the phone charge contacts. Make sure these are clean and the springs still work. If these are good, you can check the output of the charger with a volt meter at the spring loaded pins, you can get the correct voltage off of one of the satellite units and compare it to the base. If the base is not putting out the same voltage the charger has likely failed.
When you get new batteries for a cordless phone you need to let them charge over night. If you don't the battery will lose its charge much quicker. Now start by charging the batteries followed my plugging the base unit into the phone jack and the electrical outlet. The base unit is what sends out the signals to all the phones and is where your answering machine is located. Once the base is plugged in to the electrical socket and phone jack your phones should start receiving signal again. Make sure the batteries in the phones themselves are plugged in firmly and properly.
Often the line cord connection is on the back of the base unit or underneath, usually near where the AC cord plugs into the base unit that powers it. The handset needs to charge before it will be ready to use, sometimes for 12 hours. If after charging, it still is not registered automatically then try manually registering it to the base unit per the directions in the manual.
First try relocating the base unit for testing purposes, to ensure that the unit is plugged into a working telephone jack and that the adapter is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Verify that the in-use charge light is lit.
Additionally, there may be interference if the base unit is located near any appliances, or if it is plugged into an outlet with other devices. Try plugging the base unit into an outlet of its own.
If you are still experiencing a problem after these preliminary tests, you should reset the phone. To do this, remove the battery from the handset, and disconnect the adapter and phone line. Leave the unit disconnected for 1 minute. Put the battery back into the handset and then place the handset on the base unit. Reconnect the adapter and phone line. Then test the unit.
I had the same problem with the same equipment and I found this on the web. It worked well for me.
* Remove the base unit's phone from its cradle. * Unplug the power from the base unit. * press and hold the FIND button on the base unit, then, while continuing to hold down the FIND button, plug in power again. The CHARGE light should then be flashing. You can release the FIND button. * press and hold the # (pound) key on the accessory phone you are attempting to register to the base unit and hold this phone OVER and NEAR the cradle/charging prongs until the phone goes through the registration process. (again, don't set the accessory phone in the unit, but just hold it near the unit). Good luck!
Hi, Following may be the cause for getting no link to the base. 1. The handset has lost communication with the base unit.Move closer to the base unit, and try again. 2. Confirm that the base unit’s AC adaptor is plugged in. 3. Raise the base unit antenna. 4The handset’s registration may have been cancelled .Re-register the handset. To Register, follow the below steps. Headset: Press MENU and then press ‘0’ ‘0’ Base unit: Press and hold HANDSET LOCATOR until the CHARGEindicator flashes. (After the CHARGE indicator starts flashing, the rest of the procedure must be completed within 1 minute.) Handset: Press OK, and then wait until the handsetbeeps. Your handset is registered to Base unit. Thank You
hi, if the base unit is not charging phone, did you test it with another phone to confirm if the base unit is working? if after doing this and the base unit is working confirm if the d.c. power is okay, because if the current is low, the base unit will not charge the phone. if after doing all these and the phone is still not charging, then, your charging port is bad. you have to replace the charging port with a good one. the charging port is the place where the base unit will enter. i hope i have answered your question correctly? thanks for using fixya
