Can you explain more about what you mean by losing your Facebook icon? Do you mean, you had an icon on your computer screen or tablet or phone, and it is now not there? What device are you using? Have you tried reinstalling the Facebook App from the Google Play store or the Apple App store if you are on a tablet or phone?
You can go to www.facebook.com and sign in there to get your messages.
If you know about that and say "I want an Icon", then you can do that while in Facebook.
Click and hold on the URL Icon of facebook. then drag it to your desktop. Now you'll have the Icon. ...I hope.

Sounds like something is wrong with the app. Uninstall it from your devise, then go to the app store for your phone and install it again.
IF that doesn't work, then notify Facebook. Contact the developer of the app by getting the email address from the apps description on the app store (either Apple or Android). Let them know the problem you're having and what your OS is. Also, make sure your phone doesn't have any updates it needs. Sometimes the app won't work with older versions of software.
Sometimes icons get deleted. Have a look in the recycle bin and see if it is there. If not, you can create a new one. in your browser, send a shortcut to the desktop
There are two places your phone can sign in to Facebook. One is in the Facebook app and the other is in the accounts menu.
To sign out of the app just open it up and push the Facebook icon at the top of the screen. After that select push the menu button and select "Logout'.
If your Droid is syncing with contacts and numbers with Facebook you may have signed in to Facebook with Motorola interface. To sign out open the Apps -> Settings -> Accounts . Click on the Facebook account and remove it.
