I have a Plasma HD TV. TCP50x1. I have one red light continuously blinking. It seems that thousands of other people are having the same problem. The feed back that I'm getting is that a single blink is my STV 5v Sense DG board. What is it, where is it and how can I get one to install it myself?
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

I am having a shutdown problem with a Panasonic TC-32LX50. Initially when pressing the on switch, you see for 1 second a right half white screen (the left side of the screen remains black) and the TV turns off and the LED flashes 1 time. I did a T-Con cable check (based on the half white screen) and indeed this went away. Got backlight (full screen and no half white screen anymore). But still the TV shuts down after 1 second and the Red front LED flashes one time. Since this code is also illustrating a "dg board, (stv 5v sense time out)" problem in this unit, I was wondering if indeed you have encountered a defective DG board with yours. I am enclining towards a defective Power supply board.

Thats indicating the standby voltage from the DG has an issue and is preventing the set from powering up. Replacing the DG would be the recomended repair for that issue. You can get the DG board from www.tvrpairworld.com
