Remove the front panel by removing the three screws at the bottom of the panel and then tilting it up to unhook it at the top. Make sure the machine is disconnected from the electrical power - not just switched off but unplugged at the socket. Look for the belt between the electric motor and the main drive pulley of the agitator and also locate the belt tensioner which is a small pulley pressing against the belt under tension of a spring hook onto it. Pull and keep the tensioner away by hand to allow the removal of the belt starting at the motor pulley. Replace with the new belt by starting at the agitator pulley. Keep the tensioner pulley out of the way until the belt is fitted on both pulleys and then allow it to settle against the belt again. Do not adjust the spring tension and buy the correct belt from speed queen as it requires a graphite type belt. An ordinary vehicle v-belt will not work - repeat will not work. Replace the cover by hooking it in first at the top and then replacing the screws at the bottom.

Hi i have a speedqueen awm373w-3062 have noise on

Hello.

Loud noises coming from a Washing Machines are most often caused by loose objects inside the unit or by a broken dryer belt. The Washing Machines belt allows the dryer's motor to run smoothly. Continuous wear and dry conditions may cause the belt to dry out, eventually Washing Machines cracking and then snapping. This will cause a loud noise within the unit. Repair and fix the dryer belt of a Washing Machines to get rid of loud noises.

Instructions And Things You'll Needed to solve the problem.

Screwdriver ,Replacement Washing Machines belt

1 Stop the Washing Machines and look inside the dryer's drum for any loose objects such as coins, pens or anything else that may have been in a pocket of clothing. Remove the object and restart the dyer to determine if the noise has stopped.
2 Unplug the Washing Machines from the wall outlet to disconnect all power to the unit.

3 Remove the lint trap from the lint compartment on the top of the dryer.

4 Remove the screws that hold the top panel in place. Pull the panel off to access the
dryer belt.
5 Tilt the dryer forward and lift the dryer drum to remove the belt. Check the Washing Machines belt. A belt that is worn, cracked, split or broken will cause loud noises.

6 Slide the old belt off of the drum and pull it out to remove it. Take note on how it is positioned over the drum.
7 Install the new belt. Lean the front panel away from the Washing Machines and slip the new belt over the drum. Locate the position of the old belt and slip the new belt following the old belt's position ensuring the grooved side of the belt faces down. Push the idler pulley towards the motor to allow you to slip and loop the belt around the motor pulley.
8 Place the top panel on the Washing Machines and screw it in place.
9 Open the Washing Machines door and use your hand to rotate the drum counterclockwise a few turns to ensure the belt is secured.
10 Plug the Washing Machines into the wall unit and begin use .

I just changed the belt and the maqchine is washing but cuts off at the beginning of the spin cycle

The belt you need has these dimensions:

Washer Belt, length 30 1/4”, width 1/2”, characteristics, medium “v”- shaped, for one & two-speed washers
The number you have of

The LWS17 appears to use the above belt length.

There is another belt that is 32 1/2" long. That I can say is this part number: Speed Queen Washing Machine / Washer Belt 28808 This belt is common... but does NOT appear to be for you machine.

I am not sure what geographic location your in but here is a pdf file of authorized Speed Queen Dealers in the US.

http://www.speedqueen.com/home/files/pdf/support/Domestic%20Parts%20Distributors.pdf

Make the call to one of them and find out what belt you need. If you in the UK or Austraila then we need to regroup.

I have to admit I have been working on appliances since the late 1960's and this particular model number is presenting great difficulty! I am dead serious when I say I have spent 3 hours trying to verify that the 200923 number maybe the correct belt... I can NOT verify it.. Hopefully another Expert has better resources than I do.

I gave it my all. Time for the telephone to do the part searching work for you.
