Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC-5030 stopped and don't work

Unplug, check if brush has cord wrapped. Check for fuse, if applicable.
Check power lead in another supply socket. Check for reset button, if applicable. Contact Panasonic technical support for suggestions before heading to service centre.

It's 5 years old and I vacuum twice a week about 900 sq ft. It is starting to smoke and the belt sounds like it's working overtime. The hose is fine. The bag is continuing to fill up. The floor...

Make sure that the dirt bag is empty and that the motor bearings are good. Also check for any debris that may be gumming up motor bearings and forcing it to run slow.

You also can check out the motor brushes and replace them.

The vacuum keeps falling over and won't stand upright. The vacuum won't **** from the bottom, only from the hose in the handle.

No Vacuum will work for more than a few weeks
if you don't own an air compressor & blow them out
after every 2 or 3 uses

Is it a good idea to lubricate any of the plastic parts on the 12amp upright bag sweeper? If so, what should I (and shoud I NOT) use to do so?

Old fashioned Vaseline ointment is probably the best lubricant to use. Works great and is longlasting. Don't use liquids/oils.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
In answer to your question, the reason it smells like burning rubber is because the belt is too loose and it is burning the inside of the belt because it is to loose, the average belt change for a Kirby vacuum is every 4 to 6 months, the tighter the belt the better the cleaning and always use the genuine Kirby belts because they are designed to work with the Kirby, there are replacement belts that will work and are less but they are made to the correct size but Kirby vacuums always s work better with genuine parts. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
