86 Honda CBX750F,Would a inline glass fuel filter solve my flooding problem?

the shut off valves for the float bowl are probably stuck-or not seating properly --remove the carbueretors and remove the float bowls ( the bottom covers ) - the valves are over the floats, near the pivot point -remove the pins that hold the floats - and remove the floats - the valves may be attached to the floats with a small klip --inspect and clean the valve and the valve seat

Fuel not getting to carb

remove carb...remove float and float jet...blow through with compressed air. Check float height and also check float for holes.

Gcv160 runs rough

Automatic governor speed control, no adjustment. Remove & clean spark plug. Remove air cleaner, replace filter if dirty. Check oil level. Remove float bowl from bottom of carb. ensure float hangs freely and gas flows. Push up on float, gas should stop. Remove pin holding float in mount, remove float and meter needle. Clean meter needle passage with small wire. Replace float and meter needle as require. Observe float bowl screw, see if a hole is present thru screw near head, clean with wire. Reassemble. prime, pull rope 4 times 1/2 way. Pull rope up to 10 times to start. ensure fresh gas. Always use Stabile in gas. Spray outside of carb with carb cleaner to ensure choke is free to operate where cable is attached.

Flooding out

Three things cause this....
1. Debris between the float needle tip and the float needle rubber seat.
2. A very very very dirty air cleaner.
3. A fuel float assembly that the float has filled with fuel and is too heavy to float up with the fuel level.
My bet is there is dirt in the float needle seat.
remove the float bowl
remove the float hinge pin and drop the float (Shake the float gently checking to make sure there is no internal fuel inside the float.) If there is fuel in the float replace it.
remove the main fuel line

Spray carb cleaner UP into the float needle hole so that the debris will wash out of the the float needle seat. Next spray carb cleaner from the main fuel line connection through the float needle seat.

Reinstall the main fuel line.
reinstall the float needle and float as one unit.
Turn on the fuel selector...
raise the float gently until it is just level. Fuel flow must stop. If it does not stop change the float needle and seat.
Reinstall the float bowl.
Test for leaks..
Start generator. Task complete.

Gas in the crankcase

If there is gas in the oil the float valve is being held open either by a worn float valve and seat or dirt in the fuel line and possibly a hole in the float. You will have to remove the carburetor from the machine and disassemble the carburetor. Remove the float bowl from the carburetor and check for dirt in the bowl. Remove the float pin the remove the float and float valve. Inspect the float valve for wear it should be smooth all around the tip. Shake the float to see if there is fuel inside the float if so replace the float. with the fuel line off of the carburetor allow some fuel to flow into a clean container and allow any dirt in the fuel to escape.

Honda engine on MTD mower runs rough, sounds like fuel is too rich, How do I adjust mixture?

The only external adjustment is the low speed needle which is on the side of the carburetor and should be 1 to 1 1/2 turns out. Remove the air cleaner and housing to verify the choke is opening completely.
If neither of those solve the problem remove the carburetor bowl and check for dirt in the bowl. There may be dirt holding the float valve open allowing to much fuel into the carburetor. Also check the float by removing the float pin, remove the float and float valve, shake the float to see if there is fuel in the float, if there is the float will have to be replaced. Also check the float adjustment, if this is off it will allow to much fuel, Place the carburetor on it's side with the float pin up and measure the float height, it should be 5/16 to 3/8 from the carburetor body to the bottom of the float.

To much fuel! Boggs out! crimp fuel lin e to starve engine of gas and runs great?

Either the float level is too high or there is debris in the float needle seat. This causes the carb to overflow while running. The fix is:
- Remove the main fuel line with the fuel selector off of you have one.... or pull the line and plug it off / keep the end above the fuel tank then
- Remove the float bowl from the carb.
- Pull the float pin and remove the float and float needle (INSPECT float needle rubber tip for damage or dirt... any damage replace float needle and seat.)
- Spray carb cleaner into the main fuel supply hose / manfold fitting on the carb. Your removing any debris that night be in the float needle seat area
- Spray carb cleaner in all open fuel jet passages without dis-assembly of the carb.
- Reinstall the float needle and float (Float pin too!)
BRIEFLY reconnect the main fuel line
GENTLY lift the float to level.... (Incoming fuel flow MUST stop) Lower float.. (fuel must flow)
If the fuel flow does not stop with the float level.. you must replace the float needle snd seat. After needle and seat replacement if fuel still does not stop with the float level the tab where the float needle is will have to be bent UP no more than 0.010 at a time and then re-test flor fuel stoppage with float level. Adjust tab as necessary to get the float level correct.
- re-assemble carb
- test... running and static.

The pump makes a noise but no water

First, the obviouis, make sure the water is turned on under the sink. Check for kinks in the fill hose. It may be the float assembly or float switch.

Check the float to make sure it moves freely up and down, and it should click when it moves. Remove float and clean around the float tube-you may need to do this from below, through the access panel. Use white vinegar to scrub the float and shaft assembly. Turn on the dishwasher to see if this fixed the problem.

If not, it may be the float switch. If you are handy with electrical repairs, turn off the power to the dishwasher, pull the dishwasher from the wall and remove the back. Remove the wires from the terminals on the float switch-use masking tape to identify to identify terminals, noteing which belongs where.Remove old switch and replace with the new float switch. You will need the serial number, model number and make of your dishwasher to order the new float.

1979 dt 175 lower fuel overflow line is leaking gas until I start the bike, then it stops while the bike is running. When I shut the bike off the fuel starts running again till I shut off the gas. What...

Two possibilities.
1. Your float needle is leaking (most likely). Remove the carb, remove the float bowl. You will see the float itself and it has a tang that touches the float needle. Remove the float and inspect the needle and its seat for dirt or wear. You could try gently tapping the float bowl first, as this may dislodge and dirt, but thats a short term solution.
2. The float level is incorrect. You will need to bend the float tang to adjust. However, find out the float height for your bike first.
