I have a 1987 Suzuki Quadrunner 4x4 It wont start unless I blow air in the air fitter box, then it runs fine. Any one know what this could be??

I have put a new one on. I can take the the air filiter box off the carb and it will start right up. As soon has i hook the box back up it won't start. I even took the air filter off when the box is hooked up to the carp and I have to blow air in it to start. I have put a new one on. Did you use the special oil for the filter? I think those air filters require a special oil for the filter, the only other things I can think of are, does it have a mass air flow sensor in the I take system somewhere? If so this may need to be cleaned or replaced, a special cleaner is required, and can't be touched at all, plus disconnect battery to reset system for air flow--- the other may be the carb may be sticking and needs to be cleaned, clean thoroughly, the butterfly valve and other moving parts.... The air filter didn't come with oil it's just like thin foam. There is a hose that comes up from the Trans. That goes in the bottom of the air box. Air is coming out of it when I trun it over. I took the hose of and air box and cleaned everything but there still isn't enough air for it to start. I have cleaned the carp. The dieafrim is good and works great. It's just like that hose isn't pushing enough air in the air box for it to start. I don't know how to see how much air it's should be pushing though it. It sounds like you've done all the obvious things, I don't know what else to tell you...
