Try hooking the plate with a piece of wire and pull it close to the hole's,then get a strong magnet and put next to the screw holes,it might hold the plate till you get the screws started.

If it's as old as ours the holes the hinge pins locate in have enlarged over time. This makes them sloppy. If you lift the door, is there a lot of up n down movement. Not closing properly will make the coven less efficient. I'm in the process of researching the parts required before Xmas. So we don't have a cooker failure on the big day??
An oven door repair may be needed if the door
hinge breaks or is bent out of shape. Oven doors have two door hinges, a
left and right. On some ovens the same hinge is used, on other ovens
the right hinge and left hinge have different part numbers. The door
hinge sometimes is sold with all necessary parts and springs, other
times the parts need to be ordered separately. An oven door repair for a
door hinge is a relatively easy repair for a do-it-yourselfer.
If the outer door glass is broken, it can be
replaced. This oven door repair requires that the oven door be removed
from the oven and layed down on a sturdy flat surface. The outer door
glass is made of tempered glass. Use eye and hand protection when
performing this oven door repair.
there will be a slight adjustment that can be done if you undo any screws or bolts holding the door , no need to take them completely out but just enough to re position the door , make sure there are no hinges that are bent .
Removing
your microwave door allows you to quickly clean out any accumulated
food or grease. This also makes it easy to get to all the crumbs and
debris around the door hinges. While you have the door off its hinges,
examine the plastic panel and glass window for signs of damage. Make
sure you install a replacement door that is designed for your brand of
microwave to ensure that it will fit correctly.
Remove
the power cord from the electrical outlet and move your microwave onto
a workbench or sturdy table. For cabinet-mounted microwaves, pry off
the decorative grills or front panels and remove the mounting screws.
You should then be able to slide the microwave out of its mounting
bracket.
2
Open
the microwave door and remove the glass tray. Use a flathead
screwdriver or putty knife to pry off the plastic cover on the inside
of the door. Work around the edge of the glass until the cover slips free.
3
Remove
the door by pulling the mounting pins out of the hinges at the top and
bottom. You may need an assistant to steady the door so you can have
both hands free to work with the pins.

CHECK FOR A SLOT WHERE THE HINGE GOES INTO IT MABE YOU CANT SEE IT BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE CLOGED WITH FAT CLEAN WITH SOAPY WATER AND FIT THE PIN INTO THE SLOT AND IT SHOULD BE FIXED,
These hinges are now obsolete and you cannot get them anywhere. The poblem with this type of hinge is not with weak springs or anything like that, it is with the pivot pin in the door hinge. Follow these instructions and it will not cost you anything for the repair.
It is best to remove the oven from the housing. Remove both sides of the oven panels, you have to remove the top first, then the sides (remove about 20 screws all together). Support the bottom oven door first by tying a bit of string between the bottom and top oven door hand rails. This will stop the door falling down when you remove the springs. unhook the springs and the door will just slide out. (Use a loop of string attached to the back end of the spring to pull it from its holes.)
Dismantle the door by removing the screws. You will probably find that the the hinge pivot pins have come away from the U shaped hinge bracket. The secret is to make sure that these are fixed firm back into the bracket. What I did was to nip the U hinge bracket in a vice, (or use pliers) so that the pin will now protude slightly each side of the bracket. This allows more surface bearing area so the pin will not pull itself out of the hinge. To further make sure, I glued the ends of the pin with epoxy resin.
Then reassemble.
My door now feels like a new one even though it is 15 years old.
There is probably a retaining bracket behind cooker front panel you will probably have to remove a side panel to access the retaining bracket.

Thanks.
I had the same problem, the door will come off by opening it partially and lifting it up off the hinge brackets. Be careful, because the brackets are spring loaded and will snap shut when the door is removed. You will find a hinge pin with a spring clip at the bottom of the hinge. It's likely that the spring clip has come off of one of the hinges and the pin fell out. You can find the drawings and part number(s) on the "partsdirect" website using your model number, and even order them there.
