How to change boot up menu to cd rom

when your laptop sets up press F10 that will take you to your BIOS ...next go to "ADVANCED" Next go to BOOT OPTIONS...NEXT go to BOOT ORDER.... To change the order of your boot, use the + and - keys, after you get the cd-rom first in order, hit F10....go over to the "FILE" and save changes and exit. Your laptop will restart on its own ! to change the setting back just reverse the boot order ! :)

Reboot with cd

Put the cd in the drive and the system might be set to boot from it automatically.

If not, Put the cd in the drive and watch your screen for which key it says to hit to change the Boot Order or Boot Sequence, when you see the message, hit that key. This is a temporary change only good for the current boot cycle.

If you want to make a permanent change to the boot order or boot sequence, reboot your system and watch the screen for which key it says to hit to enter the Bios or System Setup. When you see the message, hit the key. Tab over to change the boot order or boot sequence. Normally you would make the CD/DvD drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd, because if the hard drive fails or has a problem you can always insert the cd and it will boot from it first. Just make sure when you boot that there is no music cd or movie dvd in the drive or you will get a message saying something to the effect of Unbootable device.

I purchased a new motherboard Jetway LGA775.... keyboard and mouse do not work. How do I make them work?

The motherboard does not have the drivers installed and that is why they are not working. If you have the cd's for them, try booting pc with the cd's already installed. They should have auto-detected them. If you have a schematic of the motherboard, check all jumpers to make sure they are set correctly.

Boot cd problems

You can't just put the windows cd in your cd rom drive. If your going to change your boot order (to cd), then you HAVE TO use a BOOTABLE cd. That means a bootup disk with all the correct bootable files for WINXP. Same with a floppy. Change your boot order to a floppy....and in order to bootup windows, you MUST HAVE the bootable files ON THE floppy. In your case...the cd. The windows xp does not have the bootable files since it is only used for install and reinstall.

Create a bootable CD or floppy (((from someone elses WINXP pc or laptop))). There is a feature that allows you to do that. Then when you boot to cd it will start windows and give you options.
