While mowing with my JD F525, I hit a root and jammed the blade. I cleared the jam, but now the mower wont't engage. I checked the fuse (good) and the belts. Blades free spin.

When I pull the PTO swith, nothing happens.

SOURCE: When I engage the PTO, the blades don't egage.

The first thing we need to to do is verify that there is adequate /(power 12 vdc) going to the electric clutch, you can do this by unplugging the clutch and check both wires 1 should have 12 volts and the other wire shoud read infinity to ground if this checks out replace the clutch, if you dont have 12vdc to the wire replace the relay

My mower will start but when I pull the handle back to mow it shuts off. What can be the problem?

Flip it over and make sure that the blade is clear. I've had pieces of wood jammed. The engine starts but I couldn't engage the blade.

John deere f525 mower, wont start, battery good, ignitor good, coil good, no positive power to ignition switch, electric on off switch for cutter looks tampered with, and a safety switch below frunt of...

The front mount mower has a safety switch on the park brake linkage and the seat belt linkage as well as on under the seat which is for the PTO,The one under the seat on the linkage just behind the battery is a culprit that needs adjusting to get the PTO to engage but it sounds like you need to deal with the seat switch circuit or replace the seat switch.

Lots of smoke when I engaged stuck blades - now runs roughly

Most likely what you did was burn one or more spots on the belt. When the blades and belt stop turning, like in tall grass, the engine doesn't stop and will burn flat spots on the belt at the engine pulley. Every time the flat spot hits a pulley, it will jump and can set up a bad vibration. Run your hand around the sides of the belt or take it off and you will feel or see the thin spot(s) on it. Replace belt.
