Unit has power and lights up. None of the buttons work and cd wont eject. The CD eject button turns the unit off but won't eject the CD. Cannot change the functions. Have reset the unit and checked the fuses. Still nothing. This stereo has been in the vehicle for 3 years. It also is in an auto scroll but cannot get it to stop. A few times when the faceplate was taken off and put back on, it went to radio mode. There is sound but cannot select a radio station even if you try manually.

SOURCE: NO Power

Hi. You need to check a few things. make sure you have power on both the red and yellow wire with the key one. If only one has power the radio will not work. also make sure that you have a good ground connection on the black wire.. if nothing works yes you probhably have a bad radio. the dual brand radios are notorious for poor solder connections on the mainboard due to the way they build thier cheap circuit boards..

I have a jvc-x11 cd changer is it compatible with my sony MEX-BT39UW

No, it won't work. JVC changers work with JVC head units, Sony head units work with Sony changers. Even if the plugs are the same, it won't work.

Remove the face plate and clean the contacts on both the head and the radio. It sounds like a bad connection, The base and head use serial data to talk to each other(control). If one of these connections are bad the unit will not work properly.

Stereo remote wire won't power on amp sony mex

The easiest check is unhook the remote turn on wire from the amp and use a small jump wire to bridge the 12dvc input of the amp and the remote turn on connector of the amp. If the amp powers on there is an issue with the remote turn on connection either a bad wire or bad output. If the amp doesn't turn on there is an issue in the amp wiring or the amp itself.

MEX-BT5700U, no sound in speakers in CD source, tuner source OK.

What many people do on this model is connect the remotes wires improperly. Use the solid blue wire for the amp and the blue with white stripe for the connection to the car.
