Can you tell me if windows 7 is compatible with my msnv-939 mother board with the realtek ac97 there is no sound can a sound card driver be downloaded to 64bit system?

I assume you have tried with only one stick of ram individually at a time if you are using two to check it's not the ram as one faulty can cause the system to stop. Also assuming you bought the ram from the same place and is compatible with the board. Sometimes people also forget that the processor in some cases has to be powered by the 4 pin plug from the PSU and not just from the ZIF socket that older processors use to power up, so double check the manual. The other main common cause of the this problem is when you are putting together all the hardware onto the board, if you don't protect it underneath it may have overflexed the board and shorted or damaged the circuitry or the bios chip. That's not to say that the motherboard was'nt faulty in the first place.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers or you can download the drivers
