Poulan trimmer wont idle

I have a Poulan P1500 25cc trimmer that is very new. It takes a bit to get started, and then when you do, it wont idle. You have to constantly apply some throttle to keep it from being killed. Is there anything I can adjust so it will run better in the low rpms? replacements? thank!

Sounds like the carb needs adjusted. Unfortunately, it takes a special tool now to fit the adjustment screw(s). A shop should be able to do that for you.

Changed filter and fuel lines, poulan 31cc 250E. starts fine but dies when accelarated

My chainsaw was doing this. The carburetors on these small engines have a fuel inlet screen that clogs with tiny bits of debris.Remove the carb, and take the portion off that has the fuel line attached to it(if you're careful, you can reassemble it without needing a new gasket). The screen is about 5/16" in diameter.Spray some carb cleaner in there to clean the screen out.(this is mt best guess, because it sounds like a fuel starvation problem)

Feather lite trimmer only runs on half throttle and idle dies on full throttle. unit is new

When I bought a new poulan gas trimmer, I had the same problem. Solution was to return it and get another one. They come with problems, even new. Just keep returning them until you get one that works correctly. Mine works great, but like I said, had to return it and get one that was right.

Poulan pro weedeater will not start without starting fluid and wont accelerate after starting Once started the first time it is easy to restart and idles fine, just cant accelerate the motor without it...

Your carburator is clogged.
1st make sure you have FRESH gas.
Empty and clean the fuel tank
Remove and disassemble the carburator and soak it in fresh gas for about 15 minutes to disolve any gunk.

Using a can of small carburator cleaner ( available at Lowes, Home Depot etc.) blow out all the ports.
reassemble and refuel with clean fresh gas
The little carbs clog easily

Trimmer starts but the spool wont turn anymore

you're trimmer could have one of two problems, One, if it has a clutch on the engine,( the way you would tell is if it doesn't spin when it idles. it has a clutch) Two, your trimmer would spin all the time, they use round flexable cables stamped square on both ends, which fit into square sockets one at the engine one at the trimmer head, so you're problem is either a worn out clutch, or, the cable is broken, or, one maybe both sockets have become rounded out. I hope this helps you out. Bob

Will not idle

May be time to get the carburetor rebuilt. Sounds like the diaphragms are not working properly to pump fuel. You may need some lubrication on the throttle cable too. A little lubrication on the throttle arm would not hurt.
Good Day.

I have a poulan pro trimmer, it wont stay running

First of all, YES. boggs is a word in my dictionary. Remove the muffler and carefully take it apart. Pay close attention as to how it comes apart because it is vary important it goes back the same way. you will probable find that it is clogged. If it is then remove the debree. If it isn't then you will have to adjust the fuel mixture screw. First start the trimmer, then let it run for a few minutes to warm up, then gently turn the screw a little bit at a time counter clockwise first, squeezing the throttle inbetween adjustments . If it starts to take off then fine tune it untile your happy. If it boggs worse then turn it clockwise.

But first check the muffler.

Good luck
