You have to call Direct TV to register the new receiver, each registration card is paired with the original receiver. You may have to pay a $20 service fee.

I have comcast and get buzzing from the box when everything is off. Do you have the option of unplugging it and having the t.v. on by itself or will the provider have to come reprogram it. If not, disconnect box to rule out t.v. before t.v. warranty is out.

You will not be able to record local station from a DTV converter connected thru a directv receiver unless there is a a/v input on the directv samsung receiver. Also check the user manual for this receiver if recording from an external source such as a DTV converter box is possible. The answer to seperating the DTV converter box from the directv samsung receiver is possible if your tv has multiple inputs. Try connecting the DTV box to the RF input and the directv samsung box to an a/v input then change inputs using the tv remote. you will need an av cable (yellow/ red/white) for the directv box and a rf jumper cable for the DTV box.

those are free channels regardless of any plans you may have, you will have to subscribe to direct tv service to get more channels, it will be more economical to sign up for a new plan so u can get new updated equipment.

Monlink is the Connection I used with my Directv. All you need to use is the HDMI cords. Are you trying to also connect to stereo system or something other than a straight HDMI connection from Directv Box to WD-62525

no it wont sorry. once a card is activated in a receiver it is married to that reciever. only directv sends out new cards to replace damaged ones. If you buy a new receiver it will come with a new card that you will have to activate

DirecTV support should be happy to send you out a new card.
