If someone has drawn on the underside of a disc, you may need to get the disc resurfaced. Resurfacing will remove a very thin layer of plastic from the disc, which will hopefully remove all of the drawing as well.
Most movie rental stores and used game stores will resurface a disc for free or for a very small fee.
If the disc is cracked, there's really no way to fix it. If it's just badly scratched, it might be saved by resurfacing the disc. Most used game stores and movie rental stores will resurface a disc for a very small fee, usually $1 to $2 per disc. If the scratches are too deep, though, even resurfacing might not help.
The best thing I could offer as advice is to cover the bottom of the disc with toothpaste, the toothpaste acts as a resurfacing agent and helps get rid of scratches, obviously clean the toothpaste off throughly before inserting the disc into the Playstation 2 disc tray.
Some video stores offer a resurfacing for a couple of dollars the other option would be to borrow or rent a copy of the game download it to your XBOX harddrive and then your disc should read long enough to get the access to game.
most resurface machines can resurface discs for up to 50 minutes. Take the game back to where you had it resurfaced and have them do it again and test the game before you take it home. (even if that means bringing your box to the store with you)!
Sounds like you need to get your money back ..the resurfaceing can also do more bad than good But a little trick lightly rub a crayon over the disk ,,old pantyhose works great rub it off from center out then try your disk ,,have saved many good games that way
try having the disk resurfaced, with one of those cleaners or poisher, you can pick up at office Depot for 20 bucks, also try getting a lens cleaner, and using that as well.
