1995 celica 2.2L doesn't engage gear 2,4,r

First I thought it wasd just just the power steering pump because it had plenty of fluid, and it would make a loud screech while turning, but today while driving gears 2, 4, and Reverse wont engage. Gears 1, 3, 5 (luckily) work just fine. It is a fairly new engine/transmission/clutch... HELP

Are you saying this car is a A/T car, AUTO and not a stick?

say so, as both have 2,4 and reverse gears.

i think its a 5speed manual.

so the tip of the shifter is bad, remove it see plastic parts bad.

you could shift car , by moving the transmission levers and id bet it does work so that leaves. bad shift lever parts.

i bet the lever is real loose , so loose the H pattern is garbage
right> ?

I assume this is fixed by now But no one answer yet? Remove one of the power steering lines leaving the gear box the low pressure one and turn the wheel left and right till fluid come out with out bubbles then re add the line and give it a few hows to let the aeration of the power steering fluid settle and check for a near full pump and move the steering wheel back and forth a few times and recheck the fluid level if it's still good start it up and the air will be gone,. If it starts to spit out again you have to turn off the engine and wait some more time to get the air out of other parts of the steering systems.

If your power steering pump is not functioning properly, it doesn't matter how much fluid is in the reservoir, it will not work. Have the pump checked out.

94 Ford F350 power steering real hard left or right pump or gear?

First thing to check would be the power steering pump. Check the fluid level and with the truck running, you should see fluid moving in the reservoir.

1995 Camry, My power steering just quit.

Start by checking the power steering fluid resivior for proper fluid level and fluid condition. If there is a whining noise coming from the engine it is a faulty pump or restricted p/s line. If the fliud level is good and there is no noise coming from the pump, then your problem exists within the steering gear, (rack and pinoin).

Show me how to replace power steering pressure hose on 1995 GMC Yukon

It's very easy, undo screw one end from back of power steering pump, no need to remove pump, and unscrew other end of hose from steering gear box, replace hose and top off with power steering fluid, when you undo power steering hose have a pan to catch the power steering fluid that will drip out.

My 2001 celica vvti power steering whins when cold

This could be caused by dirty or over-aged power steering fluid, it's not flowing enough when the engine is cold (so the fluid) lack of enough fluid flowing through power steering pump can cause the power steering pump to start whining. Change the fluid and you should be good. Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate the answer if it was helpful, it helps me, thanks!
