No reception on cell phone "No Network Service"

After dropping phone in shallow water, and immediately opening up and removing battery and drying out everything was fine. It worked again, no problem. The next day, I had no service, no reception. Everything else on the phone works perfectly. I just have 'no bars', no reception even when other phones have full reception in the same place. I appreciate anyone who can tell me possibly where the antenna is inside the phone and maybe I can look at that or any other ideas you may have!! Thanks!!

This happened to my phone after I dropped it in the dishwater. Everything worked fine about it except the no network problem. I took it apart and thoroughly rinsed the main circuit board in warm water, holding it fully immersed and swishing it about for a good two minutes. I alllowed it to dry thoroughly and now it works fine...

You need to check the RF. The RF is a component that pick up the signal. It is usually placed on the upper portion of the phone where there's a small exhaust so that the RF could pick up the signal better.

Once the RF gets wet, the component might become defective.

You need a phone tech to check or change the RF.

Have a great day!

My n900 nokia drop into water

Wet Cell Phone
Immediately remove the phone from the water, turn off the cell phone, remove the battery and SIM card. To dry out the cell phone put it in a large plastic bag with silica gel drying crystals then put it in a warm sunny place for several days or in front of a warm fan heater for several hours. Reassemble the phone and hope it will work properly again, but if does not work then it is faulty and you need a new cell phone.

How to fix a phone that dropped into water

Hi, when ever a phone drops inside the water, First you will need to remove the battery from the cell phone. If the battery is left inside the cell phone, the water will damage the cells inside the battery, why?, because there is still Power inside the cell phone that can damage the battery cell.

To service the phone, you will need to unscrew the cell phone, because has entered into the cell phone and it can damage IC chips inside the cell phone if not attended to immediately.

Use a phone screw and unscrew the phone from the back by removing the battery and you will see some screws, unscrew possible screws and open the phone.(depends on the type of phones)

Get a methylated spirit and a small brush, remove the board of the phone and deep the brush inside the methylated spirit, brush gently on the board of the phone. After brushing, get a dryer to dry up the board of the phone and live it for a while to dry.

After some minutes, assemble the phone back and fix in the battery. Make sure during the process you are charging the battery of the phone. battery might be dead or low in power..Better you can have a spare battery around
after servicing the cell phone..

I guess that's all you need.

Note: if the battery has stayed too too long on the phone and am sorry after the water splash, it might not come on after this all process, that means you will have to flash the phone because the battery might have damaged the memory of the board of the phone and will not power up the phone because the phone is too weak to power.

Flashing of the phone will restore back the phone memory.

That's solves your problem.

What To Do if I Drop My Cell Phone in Water?

The small convenient size of cell phones unfortunately also makes these electronics accident-prone, especially when it comes to water. If you drop your cell phone in water it is often possible to salvage it. If you drop your cell phone in water, you may have only seconds to retrieve it, so you need to act fast even if it means retrieving it from the toilet!

The next thing to do if you drop your cell phone in water is to remove the battery immediately without even hesitating to turn off the power. Dry the batter with a towel and set aside to dry thoroughly. The battery itself may or may not work again, fortunately batteries can be replaced fairly inexpensively. Even if the battery does work, it is a good idea to get a new one.

After you have removed the battery, dry off the cell phone with an absorbent towel as best as you can. Use cotton swabs to soak up water in crevices and on any fragile, exposed circuits. It is also helpful to disassemble it if you can and let all the parts dry separately. Just be sure that you know how to put it back together. If it is a flip or sliding cell phone, leave it open.

If you drop your cell phone in a beverage or in salt water, rinse the phone off with fresh water once you have removed the battery. Once you drop the phone in water, the additional rinsing will not do further damage, however, minerals or other materials will.

If you drop your cell phone in liquid that isn’t pure water, you may want to try giving it an alcohol bath. The alcohol will displace minerals and microscopic substances as well as aiding in the evaporation of the fluid. If it is available, you should use an alcohol concentration of 95% rather than rubbing alcohol that usually contains only 70%.

Once your phone is clean, leave it in a warm dry area or near an air conditioner for three days before you attempt to replace the battery and turn it on. This is very important, because although you may think that you have thoroughly dried it, the slightest moisture can react with the battery and cause it to short circuit. If droped your cell phone in water, and want to save it, resist the temptation of turning it on to see if it is working until you have waited at least 72 hours.

By mistake i dropped my nokia c3 in water and the keypad doesnt work now

Usually when the mobile falls into the water you need to remove everything and immediately take it to a service center so that they will wipe it with some petrol. Now it doesnt work since you dropped it in water only. Check it again with a Nokia service provider.

The Samsung GTC3300 mobile unit had dropped and wet. so the power does not ON and does not Charging.

Make sure that the battery was removed immediately and the phone kept for drying. Use some warm air blown to the battery compartment to dispel any moisture. Also you can pack the phone with some mositure absorbants like silica gel.
If you are able to open then remove and dry the board and ONLY when the boards are confirmed to be DRY you must insert the battery back. If there is function fault then you need help and consensus from a service center.

The next thing to do if you drop your cell phone in water is to remove the battery immediately without even hesitating to turn off the power. This reduces the risk of a short circuit which would render your phone useless. Dry the batter with a towel and set aside to dry thoroughly. The battery itself may or may not work again, but fortunately batteries can be replaced fairly inexpensively. Even if the battery does work, it is a good idea to get a new one so as not to risk it leaking battery acid in the future.

If you have dropped your cell phone in water, it is also helpful to disassemble it if you can and let all the parts dry separately. Just be sure that you know how to put it back together. If it is a flip or sliding cell phone, leave it open for maximum evaporation.

Unless you have insurance for your cell phone which covers water damage, there is no point in sending it to the manufacture with the hope that they will replace it under warranty. If you drop your cell phone in water, the technicians will be able to tell immediately due to moisture sensitive stickers that are contained inside almost all cell phones. The best thing to do is to try the tips mentioned above and repair it yourself.
