Newer Gm radios are usually coded to the vehicle. If the radio you installed is out of a different vehicle you simply need to go to dealer and have them code new unit to your vehicle.

If this has an automatic transmission then the torque converter lock out switch/ solenoid may be bad? It may have not unlocked the torque converter and therefore when you put it in gear the transmission is locked into the torque converter, and will act like an manual transmission when you forget to push in the clutch to stop. You will most likely need to have it scanned, or if you can locate the switch, try unplugging it and see if the vehicle will run? Most are inside the transmission on rear wheel drive GM products. Not a difficult fix, but messy as you have to drain the transmission and drop the pan.
on this model the radio is vin learned and only way to unlock is to reprogram the radio. which will have to be done by the dealer or a shop with access to programming software
If you just replaced the battery or something, the stock radio has an anti theft device that makes the radio ''Lock'' when the power is disconnected. the only thing you can do is take it to the dealer and hope they have your unlock code. You may find a reset procedure but I doubt it... good luck!
The only way to get the code is to call a Chevy dealership and talk to the service department. They will want your VIN number to look it up in their computer. Sometimes they even want you to come to the dealership to show proof of ownership.
hello, have you checked your fuse panel yet to see if you blew fuses when you touched the metal to the battry ? thats the first thing to check. yet me know what you find.
