Go Video put an 800 number in there user manual which was suppose to walk me thru recording VHS to dvds I called the number and Its not in service. Can you get me a new number so I can finally record something? Thanks Paul The VHS recorded tape copies perfectly onto the DVD-R disk, but the DVD will only play back on the Go.Video unit & not on any other DVD PLAYER or COMPUTER. I followed the manual instructions several times, but the negative results were still the same. I have tried different brands of DVD-R discs and there was no change. HOW DO I RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM as I have a very precious VHS I want to duplicate & send to my children..it is of our WEDDING, 55 YEARS AGO. PLEASE HELP. Trying to contact anyone at GO.VIDEO is impossible, unless someone can provide a valid # leading to Tech Help.

I was wondering witch model you had? You can go to this site for further instructions: http://www.devicemanuals.com/guide/DVD%20Recorder/GoVideo-manuals.html

You may have to download ConvertX to DVD for the discs to play in other dvd players.

I have a number of VHS-C tapes from my various video cameras in the early-to-mid 1990s that I'm transferring to DVD via my DVD/VCR combo device. But several of of these tapes that have the suffix...

VHS-C and S VHS-C are two different animals. Super VHS-C will have much better video resolution than standard VHS and uses better videotape. A standard VCR will not play the Super format. You need a S VHS VCR. You would need not only a S VHS VCR but also a S VHS-C adapter. Yes, Not even the adapter is the same as a standard VHS-C adapter cassette.

You can send out your few S VHS-C tapes to a video conversion service. That might be the least expensive way to get them on DVD. Otherwise you could look on E-Bay.com for either a compatible camcorder (S VHS-C) or the S VHS VCR and the S VHS-C adapter.

http://vhs-to-dvd.com is one video conversion service that should be able to get your tapes on DVD for you. You could also look locally for a video service that does conversions to DVD.

Is third time a charm. Again several years ago I

Here is the owner's manual for your DVD machine. This is a VHS recorder but not a DVD recorder. To record VHS tapes to DVDs, you will need a DVD recorder.
You will plug the yellow video out connector on the VHS to the yellow 'Video in' connector on the DVD Recorder. Do the same for the red and white audio connections, out on the VHS, IN on the DVD Recorder. Connect your TV to the DVD recorder so you can see the picture you are recording.

How do I record my vhs onto the dvd?

How about a USER MANUAL instead :D

Please note this unit is NOT a DVD recorder. It only has a DVD ROM drive to play DVDs - not to record to them.

Using up to 16x disks

This units DVD drive is only able to spin at a max of 8x on DVD-Rs and max of 2x on DVD-RWs. Also, this unit is a - only recorder. This means if it is a +, it's not going to work.
Since the unit is a DVD-R 4x max recorder, the unit will need to have it's firmware upgraded. This will only help to record to a DVD-R 8x. You can purchase this upgrade with the manufacture of the unit. Call the 1-800 number listed in your manual and press 3. They will walk you thru the steps to find out which upgrade is needed.

JVC compact VHS camcorder will not record.

Apparently this same problem exists on many different models. I have a JVC grd72u. I called JVC @ 800-252-5722. I selected the "Corrective Action Program" prompt from the automated attendent. I spoke to a customer service rep. They are aware of the problem and are fixing it for free, but only until 12/31/07. I suggest you call ASAP and get your name in the computer. If the problem is something besides the CCD sensor, they will call you with the estimate to repair.
