Shut down the software where you can see yourelf before running the video talk - They should now be able to see you as long as your camera is broadcasting - to check this in your video talk sofware under settings/ tools/ video/

since the cam works fine during the video call problems might be in your network connections..try using a different service provider like gmail or yahoo for the same video call after checking your network connections.(if you dont know how to do it, then click on the browser's (internet explorer or firefox)tools, >options>restore to defaults in the first tab itself)..

Built in Microphone doesn't work in AIM, Windows Live Messanger

You would be surprised at how many people don't realize that each application has it's own configuration screen.

It's not the end-users fault - like you said... the instructions could be a BIT more clear.

Lifecam VX 6000 and Skype

On the one I just fixed, Skype would not even see the LifeCam. I had to go into the registry and delete the calls for the Lifecam in the run section. Open Regedit, back it up first then delete any referecne to Lifecam in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\current version\run and also HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Current Version\Run

Be careful to ONLY delete the referecnes to Lifecam. If you are nto familiar with the registry you can seriously mess up your file system.
